There’s plenty of incredible things to do on the Central Coast but this has to be one of our favourites…
There’s only one rule to enter Iris Lodge Alpacas: you need to hand over a banana. Without one, you can’t get past Billy, an alpaca with a deep love of the fruit and the undisputed gatekeeper to the sprawling Jilliby farm.
Once inside, his many furry-faced friends are waiting for a meet, greet and, most importantly, eat, in what is undoubtedly one of the most unique experiences on the Central Coast.
So unique, in fact, that before international travel was off the cards, those arriving for the experience came as far as China, Japan and the UK.
Unique Things To Do On The Central Coast
The unique experience kicks off with you hand-feeding the alpacas their breakfast or lunch, depending on what time of day you book.
And then you’ll walk through the working farm meeting a few of the other animals that call this place home. Time it well and you might also see a lamb or ten. There’s also plenty of cows.

Now, it’s time for the alpacas to watch you chow down. You can either book in for breakfast or the new addition of afternoon tea which is served on the picturesque grounds.
Breakfast with Alpacas costs $50 and is suitable for all ages. It’s a 2.5 hour experience and runs every weekend. You can also enquire about a mid-week private booking.
For the afternoon tea, this is only available for group bookings of 20+ and has to be pre-booked via the Iris Lodge website.
