Best Gosford Restaurants

Hotel Gosford

A multimillion-dollar reno in 2022 completely transformed the place, and locals fell in love with Hotel Gosford all over again. It’s all rich dark timbers, brass touches, exposed brick and lush greenery. There’s a retractable roof in the beer garden plus a large (we mean large) TV that dominates on game days, and a fireplace in the main dining room that makes winter meals an easy yes. Multiple dining areas mean you can pick your mood for the night… and if you hang around long enough, you’ve got two dancefloors to choose from. 2026 marks 100 years of Hotel Gosford, and it’s never looked better!

But decor alone doesn’t land you our top spot. The food does. And when the starters include cob loaf and truffle parmesan chips, you know you’re in safe hands. The hot rolls are the quiet standouts at Earl’s Kitchen (well, this writer thinks so) – there’s The Argentinian with chargrilled black angus rump and chimichurri, or The Azores with Portuguese chargrilled chicken and tomato chilli salsa. Delish! And we have to mention the enormous pork knuckle – watch heads swivel as this one leaves the pass, it’s seriously impressive. Pastas are generous, salads are satisfying, and your favourite pub classics are all here, reimagined. Not to mention the wine and cocktail list are very impressive.

Oh, and try to save room for dessert. Or don’t. You’ll be back soon enough.

Railway Hotel Bar & Steakhouse

There’s steak… and then there’s Railway Hotel steak. Rumoured to serve the best steak on the Central Coast, these aren’t your standard pub cuts. We’re talking premium wagyu, beautifully marbled, classic cuts dry-aged to perfection, plus a sauce list that’s an adventure in itself.

Once you move past the steaks (if you can), the rest of the menu is equally impressive. Wild honey haloumi. Roasted bone marrow. Lemon ricotta linguine. Moroccan lamb rack. 1kg of BBQ pork ribs if you’re up for a challenge! Or try their Sunday roast – rump cap or pork belly with roast potatoes & carrots, sauteed greens, cauliflower bake, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. That’s proper comfort food right there.

Inspired by local history – back when railway hotels were the heart of Aussie towns – Railway Hotel was built to bring people together. There’s the sports bar at the front, with its 360-degree bar and enormous 4.5m LED TV (we hear it’s the biggest on the Coast). And tucked behind this, one of the best restaurants in Gosford. IYKYK. And now, you know.

Pinocchios Wine & Pizza Bar

This cosy Italian restaurant has been holding it down in Gossy long before she started her glow-up. Pinocchios is our go-to when we want food the way nonna makes it, with a good glass of vino. They’re super family-friendly too (molto bene!), with kids eating free on Tuesdays. Perfect for a relaxed meal with a group, simply order a few dishes to share and don’t overthink it.

At Baker Street

Creative without being fussy, At Baker St deserves all the attention. Led by Chef Daniel, the menu shifts regularly because they’re always experimenting, refining and trying something new. You’ll see technique, but it feels natural and never overworked. The lamb rump is a regular standout, and the chef specials are always worth a punt. They’re also brilliant with dietary requirements – gluten free, dairy free, whatever you need. They host regular foodie events, and have a ridiculously affordable lunch menu with burgers, pitas, pastas and more for just $15.

The Archibald Precinct: Astra, Archies, Paolo’s & Ironbark

Four venues in the one building, The Archibald has shaken up the local dining scene. Choose Astra Rooftop Bar for sky-high sashimi and million-dollar views, Archies for a pre-game bevvy, Paolo’s when you want Italian, and Ironbark if you’re in the mood for an upmarket pub vibe. It’s a pick-your-own-adventure of Gosford restaurants, with the option of a comfy hotel room at the end of the night.

And if you do stay, you get access to even more – Saltfire for brekkie and the Pool Bar to unwind later, boasting the Coast’s only swim-up bar.

South End Social

We’ve lost track of time at South End Social more than once! It’s an easy option for breakfast or lunch – just a really good place to sit, eat and catch up, basically. It’s got a bit of energy, but you can still hear each other talk. Get some fresh air on the outdoor terrace, cosy up inside, grab a booth – or sit at the communal table if you need to smash out some work without feeling isolated. The food has never let us down – from bowls to souvlaki to a mouthwatering raw tuna crudo. We especially love that it’s a brisk stroll from our new digs.

Il Toscano Pasta Bar

Tiny yet mighty pasta bar that locals rave about, Il Toscano has been a welcome addition to the Gosford restaurants scene. Authentic pasta, rich flavours, generous serves, and that warm Italian hospitality. Cute date night option.

Best Asian Eats in Gosford

Noodl Street Food Kitchen

This is one that doesn’t get nearly enough hype, if you ask us. The dan dan noodles alone are worth the trip – proper punch of flavour, the kind that makes you stop mid-convo. Add the housemade wontons, bao-gers (yes, bao burgers), and sticky, crispy Korean fried chicken and suddenly you’re ordering far more than planned.

This is way more than a quick noodle stop. The drinks menu is fun too. And if you’re bringing the kids, there’s a hidden little play kitchen and chill-out zone tucked away, which makes family dinners here surprisingly easy. Noodl is one of Gosford’s most underrated feeds, hands down.

Nepalese Accent

Spice up the week with the only Nepalese restaurant on the Central Coast. Slightly milder and earthier than Indian cuisine, it’s also a great alternative for anyone who can’t tolerate dairy. Momos are a must (Nepalese dumplings), and order the goat curry if you haven’t tried one before. You’ll be mopping your plates clean with your naan (and then asking for more).

197 Mann St, Gosford

Mapo Galbi Korean BBQ

Who doesn’t love an interactive dinner for a bit of fun. Experience Korean BBQ straight from the grill, with marinated meats cooking right in front of you. Friendly staff who will happily talk you through anything, plus soju and beers too.

Waterfront Dining in Gosford

Drifters Wharf

Want those multi-million dollar views while dining? Then head to waterfront favourite Drifters Wharf, sitting on top of Brisbane Water (literally) – and please, go there at sunset. There really is nothing like it on the Coast. Home to live music, events and unforgettable fresh seafood, we especially love that it’s been decked out in upcycled furniture. Classic fish & chips is always a winner here, or go the fish tacos if you want something a little lighter – with a bucket of prawns for the table, naturally. Pair with a glass of white or an El Capitano cocktail, and it’s a good day for all.

Gosford Sailing Club

Talk of the town, Gosford Sailing Club has had a serious glow up lately, transforming from your typical club to a stylish restaurant upstairs and casual deck downstairs.  The upstairs restaurant offers stunning views out above the sailing boats right across Brisbane Water. Downstairs, The Boatshed has become the go-to for an arvo drink, with live music & pizzas every Friday and Saturday on their dog-friendly patio. This is not stuffy club dining. It’s relaxed waterfront dining that delivers.

Take it from us – the food, the drinks and the view are certainly something special at Gosford Sailing Club. But, shhh let’s not let this local’s secret travel too far!

Best Restaurants in East Gosford

Fedele’s East Gosford

Fedele’s is comfort food, full stop. This beloved restaurant in East Gosford is like a love letter to Italian food, with classic pasta dishes and traditional hand-stretched pizzas made with the freshest local produce. Order a glass of Pinot Grigio and take your time with the menu. If we were choosing? Arancini and burrata to start, always. Then it’s between the Lasagne al Forno, rich and layered and worth every bite, and the creamy Gnocchi Sorrentina, but to be honest, we’d probably order both. A simple Margherita pizza is the real test of any Italian kitchen – and Fedele’s proves they know exactly what they’re doing with their dough.

Finish with traditional tiramisu or, a Coasties fave, lemon gelato with a shot of limoncello. And since Italians typically adore children, they’re big on family-friendly dining too – all kids’ meals include a drink and ice cream, and your little ones are treated like VIPs.

This is authentic Italian that doesn’t feel forced or flashy. Warm and intimate without being stuffy, you immediately feel like you’ve been coming for years, even if it’s your first visit.

The Elanora Hotel

Part of East Gossy for over 70 years and still packed every night – that’s not luck, that’s consistency. And it’s why locals choose The Elanora. With a kitchen that’s open all day, every day from 11.30am to 9pm –  full menu available the whole time – you don’t have to time your hunger around a cut-off or select from a specific menu. And the menu is massive. You’re spoilt for choice with everything from wings, waffle fries, pizzas, tacos, steaks, burgers, loaded schnitties and seafood right through to the decadent dessert menu. Everyone will find something they love, and you won’t leave hungry. That’s not a threat, it’s a promise!

You’ll notice plenty of reserved signs on tables, because this is where families book for special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries, and it’s where those “we should do this every year” dinners actually happen. And when there’s a game on, the atmosphere is electric. Two giant screens means game day is serious business. The drinks list backs it up too, with local beers, regional wines and cocktails made with locally distilled spirits available across three bars. The Elanora does what it does well, and that’s exactly why people keep choosing it.

Oya Bowl Bar

A firm fave when you’re craving ramen and donburi on the Central Coast, Oya Bowl Bar has been turning heads since they opened. Tucked away with plenty of outdoor dining you’re instantly transported to a flavour destination, these guys are the real deal. Their broths are made from scratch, the chashu is tender, and the karaage has that proper crunch. The Karaage Donburi deserves its own moment, with crispy chicken, rice, free-range ajitsuke ‘Oya’ branded egg, pickles and your choice of mayo. But really, everything on the menu is bursting with flavour and begging to be ordered.

Vishal’s Indian Restaurant

Spicy, aromatic Indian curries and tandoori hits that are just the ticket at Vishal’s, with flavour that’s bold and memorable. It’s warm, welcoming and perfect for both dine-in dinners and takeaway nights when you want something comforting with real flavour.

Pub Dining in West Gosford

The Settler’s Tavern

Good ol’ local pub with bistro meals – you’ll find burgers, schnitzels and all the classics done right at The Settler’s. It’s perfect for a good feed and a cold one while catching the latest live sport, and a fave for tradies popping in on their way home. Coasties Card members also score 25% off food, which makes it even easier to say yes.

The Gardens at Gosford RSL Club

We’re big fans of The Gardens restaurant inside Gosford RSL. It’s been cleverly set up with a kids’ playground tucked into the back corner, so little ones can burn off energy while still being within sight – without disturbing diners at the other end. Or sit outside in the area we can only refer to as the atrium, open-air and garden beds. The menu covers all bases, from steaks and schnitzels to salads and seafood, making it easy when everyone wants something different. It’s spacious and built for group catch-ups.

Saifon Thai Restaurant

Serve up punchy Thai classics that locals keep coming back to, Saifon Thai is a staple for local residents in Gosford and Wyoming. The space is larger than you might expect, making it great for group bookings, and the lunch specials are solid. Curries are rich and fragrant, stir-fries are fresh and punchy, and the Crying Tiger is a must-order, with tender beef, bold flavours and proper heat. You’ll always feel welcome and leave happy.
