Date night? Valentine’s Day? Just feeling the love? We’ve found the most romantic Central Coast restaurants for when you want to woo your date. It was a tough task to narrow it down – our food game is strong Coasties – so we’ve ended up with a top 15 list! Perfect for date night (or day, or weekend…)
Make sure you bookmark this one so you can keep referring to it when romance rouses in future.
Most Romantic Central Coast Restaurants
1. At Baker St, Gosford

Sometimes the most romantic thing is the element of surprise, and that’s exactly what At Baker St brings to date night with Chef’s Table, one of the Central Coast’s most memorable dining experiences.
It’s simple: choose two or three courses (with or without wines), answer a few quick questions, and then leave it with Chef Daniel and the team. If you’re like us and already dealing with a bit of decision fatigue, it’s a nice change to hand this one over. And you’re in good hands – each dish is based on what you actually like, so you’re not stuck politely chewing through something you wish you hadn’t ordered. It takes the pressure off and lets you enjoy the night.

Because it’s all tailored to you, there’s no food envy creeping in across the table either. It’s intimate, personal, and – handy bonus – makes you look organised without actually doing much. The Chef’s Table experience starts from $65pp for two courses or $80pp for three – not a bad way to impress your date (or at least distract them with good food).

2. Que Sera, Terrigal
If a cosy wine bar by the ocean is your idea of romance, Que Sera is calling. From long lunches to late nights, this one gets it right – low lighting, good energy, plus service that’s warm and attentive (without hovering mid-convo).

The head chef’s done time at some of Australia’s big waterfront names – Otto, Bannisters, Sails – and now, it’s Terrigal’s turn. The menu is simple and seasonal, with crispy cod croquettes to start, a wagyu beef skewer with maple syrup and saltbush, buttery snapper with romesco verde, and a pork ragu that melts in your mouth. Then finish light and tangy or go all in with something chocolately.

It’s all designed for sharing, so you can try a bit of everything (and avoid that “I’ll just have a bite of yours” situation). Wine’s a big part of it too, with plenty by the glass, so you can order as you go and see where the night takes you.

3. Saddles, Mount White
Proof that you don’t need candlelight to feel the romance, Saddles is a full dining destination.

Book a table on the deck overlooking the dam, or dine inside between the grand sandstone fireplace and leather saddle bar stools – it’s hard to go wrong either way. Named one of the most beautiful restaurants in the world by Condé Nast Traveler, it’s worthy of the hype, yet remains completely unpretentious. Book well in advance, this one’s popular for a reason.
Don’t rush off once your meal is finished – walk the grounds (hand-in-hand of course), wander Saddles Barn, take in the bush and the colourful macaws as the sun sets over Saddles.
20 Ashbrookes Rd, Mount White

4. Meribella, Terrigal
With its light-filled conservatory, ocean views and a recently-earned Chef Hat, this is romance done properly. Meribella continues to set the bar for special-occasion dining on the Central Coast. A thoughtful and quite simply beautiful menu and matching wines sets the scene for a romantic evening, in a setting that feels intimate even on a busy night.
We have two tips for you: make sure you book ahead to request a window table – it’s worth it to overlook Terrigal Beach and those iconic Norfolks. And why not make a romantic weekend of it with a cheeky overnight stay at the Crowne? That way no one has to drive!

5. Carne and Cucina, Erina Heights
After the devastating news that their sister restaurant, Osteria il Coccia in Ettalong (a former holder of the top spot in this very list) was closing down, the opening of Carne and Cucina could not have come at a better time. They opened to rave reviews, and have been a standout for date night ever since. Open-flame cooking meets artisan Italian cuisine in a warm setting. This spot is not to be missed.

6. Kefi, Koolewong
Sweeping views over Brisbane Waters, modern Greek flavours and a buzz that has the entire Central Coast talking. Say hello to Kefi at Koolewong, a stand-out for date night. Like all venues in the Meraki portfolio, the cocktail list is on point and the food is unforgettable! Let’s just hope your date isn’t…
19 Brisbane Water Dr, Koolewong
7. La Gioia, Erina
Meaning “the joy” and wow, what a joy La Gioia is. Prepare for a sophisticated and exquisite culinary journey to unfold. Every little detail has been thought of from moody interiors to exceptional service and of course, an authentic Italian dining experience, where the heartfelt family traditions and flavours come with every dish. Tried, tested and we can say a big fat tick from us here at Coasties.
2/8 Karalta Rd, Erina
8. Lago Cucina, Budgewoi
A waterside Italian eatery in Budgewoi, Lago Cucina lends itself to lingering over one more bite, one more glass… in fact, you’re probably planning your ‘one more’ date night before the bill arrives. Trattoria-inspired interiors that are all about texture and movement, with handmade pasta and cocktails inspired by the Italian coast. Book the babysitter and grab a table at one of our fave romantic Central Coast restaurants on the northern end.

9. The Wild Flower Bar and Dining, Killcare
Don’t just leave this Central Coast restaurant to the tourists, The Wild Flower Bar and Dining is a timeless romantic choice. After all, Bells at Killcare, where it’s housed, is ultimately the #1 hotel in our region for loved-up getaways. Ideal for anniversaries and milestone dates, when you want something a bit spesh. Best to pre-book well in advance as it gets busy!

10. Johnny Tapas, Norah Head
This is for the laid-back daters amongst us. The ones who prefer perfectly concocted cocktails and a buzzy atmosphere to a white-cloth service run. But that doesn’t mean you have to trade off with sub-standard fare! At Norah Head’s Johnny Tapas, you’ll find some of the best tapas on the Central Coast. The share plates are perfect for those in the first throes of passion who think feeding each other is kinda of cute. Or if you’re in a long term romance, you can bicker about who is having the last empanada.
7 Mitchell St, Norah Head
11. Suq Restaurant, Wamberal
Are we in Venice or Wamberal? It’s easy to get confused, especially if you’re digging into Suq Restaurant‘s outstanding fried goat’s cheese while sipping on a glass of pinot grigio. The white tablecloths, the friendly staff and the whole vibe has us feeling all European fling!
80 Ocean View Dr, Wamberal
12. The Cowrie, Terrigal
We couldn’t very well have a list of the most romantic Central Coast restaurants without including The Cowrie. Perched up high with sweeping views over Terrigal, The Cowrie feels like a proper *occasion* restaurant – the kind you book when you’re celebrating something (or someone) special. The food is refined without being intimidating, the service is spot on, and once the sun starts to dip, it’s hard not to feel a little bit smug about your dinner choice.
109 Scenic Hwy, Terrigal
13. Ocean Restaurant, Blue Bay
As the name suggests (right down to the suburb really), Ocean Restaurant is all about that view. This is a great pick for couples who want romance without the formality. Seafood, salty air and a golden-hour glow that makes everything feel a bit more special. With floor-to-ceiling windows, we particularly love meals here during whale watching season on the Central Coast.
102 Ocean Parade, Blue Bay
14. Angel Sussurri, Yarramalong
Away from the usual coastal spots, Angel Sussurri is set inside a sprawling manor house in the hinterland. The romance starts early here – with the country drive, ideally sans kids, little bit of mist in the hills. It feels like a proper pause, a little escape from reality, as you try to find the perfect table – inside by the fireplace, beneath the canopy of vines in the courtyard, or perhaps tucked into a cosy corner, just past the bookshelves? There are no wrong choices here. Explore the gift shop & stroll the gardens (hand in hand) while you’re there – and if you don’t feel like heading home, they have accommodation here too.
1-4 Linga Longa Road, Yarramalong
15. L’isle de France, Terrigal
When you’re feeling a bit ooh la la, this is where you book. L’isle de France has been doing classic French dining on the Central Coast for years – white tablecloths, fairy lights, ocean views and a menu that celebrates deep, rich flavours – cheese soufflé, duck confit, beef bourguignon, crême brûlée, oh my. The French know a thing or two about romance, and you can find a little taste of it right here in Terrigal. It’s no surprise they’ve received a Chef’s Hat for 6 years running. Intimate and elegant, this is a good one for anniversaries, or when you want to really bring out the big guns. Cue Pepé Le Pew with heart eyes.
