Woy Woy restaurants are so wonderfully diverse in their offering. From a leading NSW seafood restaurant to a secret Greek spot that’s always packed with locals. Here’s our guide to the top six restaurants everyone should visit in Woy Woy.

1. Woy Woy Fisherman’s Wharf

Of all the incredible Woy Woy restaurants on this list, Woy Woy Fisherman’s Wharf is perhaps the most well known. Since its 2018 refurbishment, it’s become the biggest epicurean drawcard to Woy Woy and really, the Peninsula as a whole. Here you’ll find incredible seafood, like the chilli blue swimmer crab Singapore style, blue mussels in a spicy broth and of course, your traditional fish and chips. For us, it’s always the impressive seafood platter with two that gets our vote. The wine list is impressive, and, in fact, award winning. This is a lunch time spot only, but is open every seven days a week.

2. Tropicana Social Club

Formerly known as Tropicana Pizza Pizza, the guys moved location into a swish building on Trafalgar Avenue and it’s now a super slick social club. At Tropicana Social Club you’ll still find the pizzas that made them famous on the Coast but also carefully created cocktails, a wonderful wine list and a true slick bar feel. Top tip: Always ask what the specials are, with shepperd’s pie pizza being a recent hit with locals.

3. Nero’s Woodfire Pizza

Found in the former building of the guys above is Nero’s Woodfire Pizza. Opening in early 2021, the chef at its helm has worked in some of the finest restaurants in Sydney before returning to the Coast. In short, the pizzas are absolutely incredible. There’s not much indoor or outdoor seating so best to book. Or in the summer months, grab and go and sit near the waterfront for a pizza picnic.

4. Ela Mesa

If you’re looking for a restaurant with live music, an incredible atmosphere and the best Greek food on the Central Coast then look no further than Ela Mesa. Open for lunch and dinner every day but Monday and Tuesday, here you’ll really feel like you’ve been transported straight to Greece. Haloumi with figs, fried Greek cheese, whole fried snapper and lamb cutlets are some that found on the incredibly extensive menu. And it’s all pretty reasonable with mains costing $28 a pop.

5. Frankie’s Rooftop

Okay, not quite a restaurant. Frankie’s Rooftop is a cocktail bar found about the Bayview Hotel but seriously, the food here is incredible. It’s all Japanese inspired, with Head Chef Michal Vana having worked in some of the best restaurants in Sydney after extensive training in Japan. The crispy fried chicken is out of this world, but so is the chilli squid. And as expected, the cocktails are superior.

6. KB Thai

An absolute favourite with locals is KB Thai. The joy about KB Thai is that it’s not only BYO but there’s a tree-lined courtyard to enjoy a traditional Thai lunch or dinner. The Massaman Lamb shank is perfectly sweet, with the meat falling off just as it should. There’s also a lot of seafood and fish on the menu here. And a whole menu for vegans.
