The Coast Games Are Back for 2026 – And It’s Set to Be Huge
If you thought last year’s Coast Games brought the energy, just wait until you see what’s coming in 2026.
The much-loved fitness competition is returning to Central Coast Grammar School on Sunday April 12, bringing with it the same electric atmosphere, powerful displays of strength and endurance, and the community spirit that have made the previous four years such standout events on the local sporting calendar.
For spectators, it’s one of the most exciting live events to experience. Picture athletes pushing themselves through demanding workouts, crowds cheering from the sidelines, music pumping, and that unmistakable buzz that builds when competition gets serious.
Registrations for athletes are already almost full, a clear sign that the Coast Games has quickly become a must-do event in the functional fitness community. Competitors travel from across the region and beyond to test themselves against some of the best, all while representing their gyms, training communities and personal fitness journeys.
But even if you’re not competing, this is an event worth showing up for.
The Coast Games is designed to be just as enjoyable for spectators as it is for the athletes on the competition floor. Friends, families and fitness fans gather to watch the action unfold, support their local athletes and soak up the high-energy atmosphere.
Events like this don’t happen without strong community backing, and the Coast Games continues to be supported by an incredible lineup of local businesses who believe in bringing exciting events to the region.

Major sponsors helping make the 2026 event possible include;
- Central Real Capital
- Bendigo Bank
- P3 Recovery Erina
- Coastal Lawyers
- Waters Cranes
- Coastal Building
- BSTBDY (Best Body)
- Coasties Mag
Their support helps ensure the event can continue to grow, attracting top competitors while creating an unforgettable experience for the Central Coast community.
What makes the Coast Games special is the sense of camaraderie that runs through the entire event. Yes, it’s competitive. Yes, the workouts are intense. But at its core, it’s about people pushing themselves, supporting each other and celebrating what the human body is capable of.

For spectators, that makes for a pretty incredible show. I joined the Coast Games team as a volunteer on the competition floor last year, and I have to say, it was such an exciting experience.
Whether you’re deeply involved in the fitness world or simply enjoy watching people perform at the top of their game, the Coast Games delivers a front-row seat to determination, resilience and raw athletic power.
With registrations nearly full, the countdown is well and truly on.
So if you’re looking for something exciting to watch on the Central Coast this year, consider this your invitation to come along, cheer from the sidelines and experience the Coast Games energy for yourself.
Trust me, it’s hard not to get caught up in it.

The Coast Games 2025 was a HUGE success!
On Sunday, April 13th, 2025, Central Coast Grammar School buzzed with excitement as it hosted the fourth annual Coast Games.
Coasties Magazine Co-Editor Tash was there to experience it first hand and following the big day, she caught up with the brains (and the brawn) behind The Coast Games – Peter Bray and Warwick ‘ Waz’ Jones – to reflect on the success of the event.
‘This year marked a significant milestone for us, not only with the number of competitors and spectators but we also expanded to include an outdoor event, which really took things to the next level‘, Pete shared.
Waz still can’t get over all the positive feedback from competitors and the community, ‘Everyone who competed on the day has given us such amazing feedback about their experience with this years event. The live DJ, the vendors, the weather – it all came together so well. We are already planning what our 2026 event will look like!‘

The day was split into two sessions: the men’s competition in the morning and the women’s in the afternoon, with teams of three taking part in four events in 3 hours. Both sessions saw an incredible turnout, with the number of competitors skyrocketing from 96 in the inaugural year to nearly 400 this time around. The energy was palpable, with participants, the crew and spectators alike feeling motivated and inspired by the community spirit that defined the day.
‘None of this is possible without the dedication and hard work of our volunteers. Their tireless efforts, enthusiasm, and unwavering commitment were the backbone of the Coast Games, ensuring everything runs smoothly and everyone feels welcome‘, Pete shared.

‘Our sponsors give us the ability to bring such a great event to life and we extend such gratitude to their support and partnership‘, Waz said.
Tash shared her experience with the boy saying, ‘Having been both a sponsor and volunteer for the 2025 event, I can honestly say how impressed I was by the energy, excitement and organisation of the day’.
With 2025 a clear success, The Coast Games 2026 is set to be event bigger and Coasties Magazine can’t wait to support it again!

Meet the Founders – The Brains and the Brawn Behind TCG
Local fitness enthusiasts Peter Bray and Warwick ‘Waz’ Jones are the driving force behind The Coast Games. What started as a vision to bring people together post-COVID and introduce them to competitive fitness has now become a must-attend event on the Central Coast fitness calendar.
Waz shares, “We started The Coast Games because we wanted to find ways to get people together again post-COVID and introduce people to the idea of competitive fitness. The support from so many great local businesses is mind-blowing, and we love how the day has become a bit of a festival with food trucks, retail vendors, and, of course, hundreds of spectators.”

Pete sees community as key to The Coast Games’ success. “What has been so amazing is the contribution of our volunteers, who are the real stars of the show in terms of bringing such a great experience to life for the competitors on the day. The growth and such positive feedback from competitors is what keeps us motivated to make The Coast Games truly a landmark fitness event for the Central Coast.”

From Humble Beginnings to the Biggest Year Yet
Since launching in 2022, The Coast Games has grown into one of the most anticipated fitness events in the region. What started with just 96 competitors and 200 spectators at Kincumber Indoor Sports has exploded into a massive community-driven event.
In 2023, the competition welcomed 240 athletes (with a waitlist of over 100!) and drew in more than 300 spectators. Then in 2024, TCG outgrew its original venue and moved to Central Coast Grammar School, where 330 competitors and 500+ spectators filled the space with energy, passion, and an undeniable love for fitness.
And now? 2025 is set to be their biggest year yet! They’re expecting 400+ competitors to go head-to-head, pushing their limits in a fun, safe, and accessible format designed for all fitness levels. But this isn’t just about the athletes—spectators will experience a festival-style atmosphere, complete with retail stalls, food trucks, on-site activations, and live equipment demonstrations. It’s an event not to be missed.
