It might feel like winter fun has been well and truly been cancelled due to lockdown but there’s one activity that you can still do – orange picking.
In fact, Cedar Farm, found in the foothills of the Wyong State Forest, are urging everyone on the Coast to still visit as many of its beautiful oranges are going to waste.
And best of all, the farm has been approved to allow people in to PYO fruit so it’s all above board. You can take it as your iso exercise.

The farm has been hit hard this year due to lockdown, with its 15 acres of orchards usually attracting thousands of visitors each winter.
And it’s not just the fruit that’s going to waste but the owners have lost a huge amount income. So a visit is a great way to support local.
Bags of oranges are $1.50 a kilogram. There’s also fresh produce from other local farms, with eggs from Grace Springs Farm usually on sale.
You’ll need to bring your own bag to put the oranges in. And it’s essential to socially distance and hand sanitise.
Cedar Farm is at 48 Dittons Road, Dooralong.
This is how you get there: You have to turn off Dooralong Road into Dittons Road. Follow the dirt road to the carpark at the end.
