The rainbow is rolling back into town! From 30 September to 5 October 2025, the Central Coast will once again play host to the brilliant, bold, and joy-fuelled Coastal Twist Festival – a six-day celebration of LGBTQIA+ art, culture and community, taking over venue across Woy Woy, Ettalong, Gosford and Umina.

This year marks the festival’s fifth birthday, and it’s going big with a packed program of free and ticketed events including the iconic Love Club Cabaret and immersive Dance Party, drag brunches, pride karaoke, live music, art exhibitions, workshops, rainbow youth and senior activities, and the always-iconic Coastie Carnie Fair Day (complete with the beloved Puparazzi Pooch Parade).

This year’s theme – Strength in Unity – couldn’t come at a more important time. Coastal Twist 2025 returns amidst significant funding challenges, with a 25% cut to Council funding and additional layers of red tape adding tens of thousands of dollars in unexpected costs to the community-led festival. Despite that, the team behind it are digging deep and showing up stronger than ever, fuelled by community support and an unshakeable commitment to visibility, connection and joy.

 
Festival Director Glitta Supernova says it best: “Now more than ever, it is imperative we embrace our differences, stand together, and work towards a future where equality belongs to everyone and cohesion stands. Together, we are stronger, and together, we can create a future where freedom and equality belong to everyone.”
 
So folks, you know what to do: grab your bio-glitter, put on your dancing shoes, and let’s paint the town with rainbows! The magic of Coastal Twist Festival is almost here.

Coastal Twist Festival 2024

In 2024, the theme was Rise & Shine, a mantra that Festival Director Glitta Supernova said “captures our Coastie community’s spirit of resilience and renewal, symbolised by the phoenix, and celebrates our transformative power and unity in the face of adversity through vibrant queer expression and collective growth.” Coastal Twist is an opportunity for the whole community to come together, celebrate diversity, and be part of a movement for visibility, inclusion and positive change. The key message is that everybody is welcome to join in and celebrate the brilliance and creativity of the LGBTQIA+ community. Coastal Twist is on a mission to create a happier, healthier and more welcoming Central Coast for ALL.
