Just 20 minutes from Gosford, Glenworth Valley feels like a world away. Tucked into 3,000 acres of lush bushland, rolling hills and fresh creeks, it’s the kind of place that makes you forget your phone even exists. Whether you’re rolling in with the caravan, pitching a tent under the stars, or glamping in style, Glenworth Valley is one of the Central Coast’s most loved staycation spots, and for good reason.
And this spring, Glenworth Valley launched its brand new powered campsites, perfect for caravans and camper trailers. It’s a total game-changer for those who love the outdoors but also love their creature comforts. Of course, the unpowered sites are still a favourite for the purists, those who want to light a campfire, sleep under the stars, and wake up to birdsong rather than a phone alarm.
Each site offers plenty of space, privacy and the kind of scenery you’d expect from a national park, not a campground. Whether you’re camping solo, with mates, or with your family, there’s something magical about watching the mist rise over the valley in the early morning light.
Glenworth Valley, Central Coast Things To Do

Forget the long-drop toilets of traditional camping, Glenworth Valley’s facilities take things up a notch. They have an on-site kiosk that serves up great weekend coffee (we’re talking real barista coffee) and hearty food to fuel your adventures, while the on-site shop has everything you need if you’ve forgotten that one crucial thing (because let’s be honest, we’ve all done it). They also have some solutions to help make the experience extra special, ready-made grazing boxes or smores kits will be certain to impress your crew.
If you haven’t seen Glenworth Valley’s Running of the Horses, it’s worth the trip on its own. Every afternoon, hundreds of horses thunder across the fields as they return from their trail rides, and campers get a front-row seat. It’s one of those “wow” moments you don’t forget. It is pure magic, whether you’re watching it for the first time or the fiftieth, it just doesn’t get old.
Families love the Animal Petting Farm, open every weekend. From highland cows to goats, chickens and friendly ponies, it’s an instant hit with the kids, and the grown-ups who pretend they’re just there for the kids (guilty).

Camping not for you? No worries. Glenworth Valley’s glamping tents are perfect for anyone who wants all the serenity of camping without sacrificing comfort. Each tent is fully set up with a comfy mattress, soft linens and stylish finishes. All you need to do is show up, unzip, and relax.

And if you prefer solid walls and air con, the purpose-built cabins offer that deluxe experience, offering home-away-from-home comfort with views that will make you want to stay forever. Located in a private and secluded area of the property, away from the main campgrounds.
For something extra special, book the deluxe hot-tub cabin that comes complete with a woodfired hot tub, not your usual campground cabin experience!

Both Nikki and I have been lucky enough to camp at Glenworth Valley a few times, but one winter weekend stands out. We were celebrating a good friend’s 40th birthday and she threw a Glastonbury-inspired mini-festival complete with festoon lights, music, and campfire laughs that lasted well into the night.
Because she’d booked private campground hire, there were no other campers to disturb – the perfect solution for private events. We were tucked alongside a stretch of the creek that we claimed as our own (and yes, of course we swam in it, in winter). The mornings were so crisp that frost covered everything, making everything twinkle in the sunlight. And as it rose, the sun hit the valley just right, making it was one of those experiences you want to repeat again and again.
The staff were friendly and genuinely invested in making sure everyone had an amazing time.
Glenworth Valley is the kind of place where you feel both looked after and left to your own devices.
