New Year, New You (Coasties Style): Local Businesses Helping You Start 2026 Feeling Good

A new year has a funny way of making us want to reset. Not in the dramatic, “new personality by Monday” kind of way, but in the gentle, let’s feel a bit better this year kind of way. More energy. More balance. More doing things that actually make us feel good. And luckily for us, the Central Coast is full of local businesses designed to help with exactly that.

From fitness and recovery to beauty, mindset, movement and a little self-care magic, these Coastie-owned businesses are here to support your fresh-start energy, however that looks for you. Whether your version of “new year, new you” means stronger, calmer, more confident or simply “less like last year”, consider this your local guide to starting the year feeling like your best self, without leaving the Coast.

House of Grace

House of Grace is a boutique Pilates and movement studio designed to support both body and nervous system, with a strong focus on women’s health, longevity and feeling genuinely well. Classes span Pilates, yoga, boxing and strength, each finishing with dedicated nervous system regulation and mindfulness, because feeling good shouldn’t stop when the workout ends.

Founded by Grace, a qualified women’s health coach, singer, and performer, every session is shaped by a deep understanding of breath, rhythm, and presence, as well as hormones, nutrition, and life stages. It’s almost as though she has an inbuilt ability to tune into the energy in the room, in every class. Small group classes allow for personalised guidance, intuitive cueing, and real connection. Calm, inclusive and grounding, House of Grace feels less like a workout and more like a weekly reset. A safe, supportive space to move, breathe and come home to your body.

The Performance Edge | The Cognitive Athlete

January often brings pressure to “reinvent yourself”. New routines, new goals, new expectations. But what if this year’s reset was simpler?

Clint Rahe, Central Coast author, leadership and performance coach, and the mind behind The Cognitive Athlete, shows us a smarter approach. Most of us treat our brains like machines, always on, always available. But the brain performs best in short bursts of focus, followed by rest. A Cognitive Athlete–style reset might mean one priority per day that really matters, short breaks between tasks, clear boundaries around sleep and downtime, and less busyness, more intention.

The goal? To keep your ambition alive without burning out. It’s not about doing less – it’s about being smarter with your energy so you can thrive at work, at home, and in life. Sometimes the best reset isn’t a big change; it’s simply a better way of doing what you already do.

The Cognitive Athlete is out now, with a local book signing at Book Face, Erina, on 10 January. Pair it with Clint’s podcast for ongoing tips to make 2026 your smartest, most sustainable year yet.
