Small but mighty. That’s how we think of Wyong. A little Central Coast town that has a lot to offer, especially when it comes to its food scene.

Wyong has some of the freshest fare in our region, a true farm-to-table attitude to eats, and let’s not forget, it’s the birthplace of some of the Coast’s greatest exports.

Yep, we’re looking at you, Glee Coffee Roasters and The Marshmallow Co. So, let’s go…

Glee Coffee Roasters

OK, let’s start where all good foodie stories start: with coffee. Glee Coffee Roasters is an institution on the Coast. Leaders in the creation ofg

high-quality coffee, experts in all things roasting. You can grab a coffee and breakfast at the cafe found in The Chapman Buildings (9/14-16 Alison Rd) in the heart of Wyong.

But as you know, Coasties is all about levelling up, so why not go straight to the bean and visit Glee Coffee Roasters HQ (Building 1, 4 Dulmison Avenue) instead? Here you’ll learn about GCR’s journey to the top while enjoying a superior cup. Only open on weekdays though.

Duck Duck Moose

But hey, let’s not play favourites. Another must-visit breakfast, brunch or lunch spot is also Duck Duck Moose (7 Alison Rd). The coffee is

a delight also, but here the selling point is the freshly baked treats. They change all the time, but what stays the same is each is outrageously, sinfully delicious.

The Marshmallow Co.

At The Marshmallow Co. you’ll find an ever-growing array of pastel-hued clouds to enjoy. And they are wrapped so beautifully that each little parcel  is a perfect present. If you’ve the self-control, that is. We definitely do not. Far too heavenly.

And now they’ve also opened a dessert bar so it’s not just a takeaway option. They serve the most delicious desserts, like s’mores, sweet jaffles and nachos with chocolate sauce, strawberries and melted marshmallow.

Wyong Milk Factory

So, if you visit Wyong and don’t visit the Wyong Milk Factory (141 Alison Rd), have you really visited Wyong? Have you? The former milk factory is now a cafe, bar and playground and, really, everything in between. It’s also a stellar spot if you’ve young children. The playground is a cut above.

It’s also home to the Daily Dough Co., whose popularity has rocketed since opening in July last year. Try the crème brûlée. It’s big enough to feed a small family.

And don’t forget, if you’ve a Coasties Card you get 10% off here.

Little Creek Cheese

Time to head to Little Creek Cheese, also housed in the never-ending land of Wyong Milk Factory. Here you can enjoy some cheese tasting or just handpick a few of its unique offerings – like gin-flavoured cheddar – and enjoy in the privacy of your own home.

Wyong Restaurants To Visit

Motel Mezza

Yes, all of the above has helped turn Wyong into a genuine food destination, but what has cemented it is the late-2018 opening of Motel Mezza – a slick Lebanese restaurant and bar housed inside an Art Deco building found smack-bang on the high street. Here you’ll find sophisticated share plates, superior cocktails that are ’gram ready (tag us please, @coastiesmag) and a true Great Gatsby-vibe. Wyong is worth a visit for this place alone.

Juicy Lu’s, Wyong

Burgers and cocktails. That’s the name of the game at Wyong bar-slash-restaurant, Juicy Lu’s. This is a relaxed eatery that’s got the music pumping, the drinks flowing and always has a great atmosphere. Great for lunch or for dinner. But limited seating so always best to book.

Sirrone’s Pizza by the Metre

This laneway pizza restaurant might look modest from the outside but the pizza at Sirrone’s in Wyong is outrageously good, created by an Italian who was taught by his family. Flash that Coasties Card and get a free garlic bread with your order.

Did you know?

Wyong is the indigenous name for place of running water, thanks to its closeness to beaches to the east and Tuggerah Lake on its doorstep. Oh, and Wyong is also the indigenous name for ‘edible yam’,which is not as mystical but rather fitting, really.
