The Central Coast has been lucky enough to score some of the state’s best craft breweries right here on our doorstep.
One of the best parts about a brewery is their versatility. Sunny – let’s have a beer. Cold and rainy day – let’s escape to the warmth and cosiness of a local brewery and enjoy a beer and delicious burger.
Rain, hail or shine, a brewery has your back.
If you’re yet to discover the world of independent breweries right here on the Central Coast, we’ve got all the details for you to sit back and enjoy the ales.
Central Coast Brewery, Tuggerah
Recently taken over by avid brew fans and friends, Duane and Adrian have really turned their passion for beer into a working reality.

Always a great selection on tap, with takeaway sales also available, this is the perfect place to stop in and enjoy a frothy.

You will also find their brews on tap at local restaurants including a Coasties Mag favourite, Mexicoast Cantina in Toukley.

Six String Brewing, Erina
Like most good businesses, it all started as a hobby. But isn’t the world thankful that owner, Chris Benson, decided to quit his job and give it a real go?
Well, fast forward to today and it is hard to believe the guys at Six String are about to celebrate their 10-year birthday, especially considering the trajectory of growth we’ve seen.
They are one of our most successful start-ups with a tasting room that certainly feels more like a full-blown bar. Six String Brewing has certainly played a big part in putting Erina on the map when they proudly won the 2021 AIBA Champion International Lager category – the best lager in the WORLD!
They have a tasting room and restaurant open to the public based in Erina, here on the Central Coast and if you haven’t yet been, we recommend you bookmark this. You can watch the brewers at work, taste the selection of beers and limited-edition brews, often catch some live music and grab a mouth-watering meal from the kitchen which is run by Moobi Valley. They are cooking up food that perfectly accompanies your beer. Open Wednesday to Sunday and serving up dry aged wagyu beef steaks, burgers and other delicious bar style treats.
So, whether you’re after a refreshing Hard Ginger Ale, an easy drinking mid-strength, Coastie Lager or something a bit heavier, Six String have something for you! You’ll quickly learn why this is a favourite watering hole of many locals and visitors alike.
And you don’t have to visit their current location in Erina to try them. Their brews and soda range can be found at plenty of venues across the Central Coast, Newcastle, Sydney and parts of NSW. Their selection of cans are also sold in local retailers throughout the Central Coast.
Having outgrown their space, keep your eyes peeled for some exciting news coming out of the Six String headquarters soon!

Block ’N Tackle, Kincumber
The perfect place to meet with friends or work colleagues, one of the incredible things about this pocket rocket of a micro-brewery is that the owner’s focus is to always support local.
A small boutique craft brewery and cellar door, conveniently located in Kincumber, it is a great spot to relax, grab yourself a paddle and sample their range.
The beers are named after local historical figures, important to the nearby Brisbane Waters, and they stock the likes of Little Creek Cheese, Loveshak Soaps, HotNuts, Madhouse Beef Jerky and Salt Pig Deli.
But more than anything, Block ’N Tackle is big on atmosphere and even bigger on beers with 12 ever-changing taps to choose from.
Go to sample the beers in the taproom or book yourself in for a Saturday tour. You may even find yourself asking questions about the paddles up on the wall and then experiencing FOMO for not being a part of their paddle club!
Live music over the weekends, food trucks regularly on-site, a generous 2-hour happy hour on weekdays and mid-week discounts on Growler refills, there are plenty of excuses to put this one on your radar.
11/13 Cochrone St, Kincumber

Bay Rd Brewing, Gosford
Looking for a brewery on the Central Coast that’s both kid and dog-friendly? Well, look no further than Bay Rd Brewing in Gosford.
Here you’ll find an extensive range of craft beer, which has constantly changed since the breweries opening back in 2018.
Local artist Grant Molony has adorned the interior walls with his incredible artwork, a mural of a sprawling octopus and an anchor.
The place is a vibe, especially with their spin on a paddle, uniquely shaped as an octopus!
And while they don’t do food on-site, you won’t go hungry as there’s always a rotation of foods trucks found on the curb-side outside.
