Waffles at Norah Head General Store have to be on the hit list.

Let’s be honest, when it comes to a stellar Central Coast breakfast, there’s plenty to choose from. Our cafe scene is constantly growing and evolving. But if you’re after a star dish, then we’ve listed 12 of the most brilliant you can find across our region. Let’s get brunching…

1. Waffles at The General Store Norah Head

Perhaps not every day is a waffles kind of day, but when it rolls around you should head directly for The General Store in Norah Head. Their plant-based buckwheat waffles are perfect for when you want to treat yourself without going too OTT on the sugar intake. These beauties are topped with vanilla Coyo ice cream, raspberry meringue shards, mixed berry Coyo cream and seasonal berries.

Sit amongst the quiet, towering gumtrees and get stuck into a plate of fluffy Japanese-style pancakes, which comes with a blueberry compote and your choice of whipped cultured maple butter or fresh ricotta. This Mediterranean delight brings together Chorizo, chutney and a poached egg all on a gooey cheese flatbread.

Once you’ve finished your meal you can purchase a bag of fine roasted coffee to recreate the magic at home.
