Top Cafes with Sea Views on the Central Coast

1. The Haven Beach Restaurant and Kiosk

We knew when the team from the highly acclaimed Yellowtail (also located in Terrigal) took over this iconic spot that something special would be on the cards.  Opening in stages the Haven Beach Restaurant and Kiosk has started off as a simple, yet done perfectly, seaside takeaway spot. Grab sustainable and fresh seafood as well as the staples like fish and chips and burgers.

Plans for the restaurant are well underway with the team recently sharing on their socials to keep a close eye for the restaurant that’ll be opening soon.

Located right on the water at the Haven in Terrigal this spot hits the spot when it comes to seaside dining.

2. The Boathouse Hotel Patonga

Looking out over the sparkling Patonga water and out towards Sydney’s Northern Beaches, The Boathouse Hotel Patonga serves one of the most delicious breakfast menus on the Coast. The super popular mushroom toastie features mozzarella, truffle and spinach –  a perfect brunch regardless of whether you’re a veggie-lover or not. The hotel also offers a range of gluten-free and dairy-free options. For the full treat-yo-self experience, why not order one of their icy cold-pressed juices, served up with a slice of lemon on top? Flash your Coasties Card on weekdays between 7-11am and you’ll receive 20% off your breakfast bill.

After enjoying a swim or surf at Avoca Beach, the Point Café is the perfect spot to fuel up and grab an irresistible, Instagrammable bite to eat. The Winter Porridge with black rice, raspberry compote, chia seeds, pistachio crumb, coconut flakes and mascarpone is a must-try, but the Nutella French Toast is also hard to pass up.

4. Avoca Sands Bar & Cafe

It’s no secret that Avoca Beach is packed with great spots for coffee and another of our favourites has to be Avoca Sands Bar & Cafe. The friendly team roast their own blend and it is delicious. Order a bacon and egg roll made with house relish at the same time, and your morning is made. Grabbing it to-go and sitting on the beach makes for a great outing, otherwise taking a seat on their extensive balcony also allows you to soak up that incredible view of Avoca’s shoreline.  A winning spot.

5. Usui Cafe , The Entrance

The Entrance’s Usui Café is a bit of a hidden gem. This pocket of a café, with views of The Entrance Beach, prides itself on its organic, locally-sourced and handmade menu supported by local artisans and suppliers. Try one of its iced fruit frappes paired with an eggs benedict and it will make your morning. Or afternoon, considering the cafe is open later than most of the surrounding alternatives with it’s 4pm closing time. At any hour of the day, however, the water views will be perfect to look across from it’s outside seating.

6. Burnt Honey Bakery, Copacabana

Are we in Europe or Copacabana? Well, it’s hard to tell as Burnt Honey Bakery definitely has a distinct Parisian feel to it. The glistening waters, the flaky pastries (Portuguese tarts every day, please!) and an incredibly superior coffee is what attracts a lengthy queue most days. That, and the mouthwatering pics they keep posted on their Instagram. But hey, skip the queue and pre-order online. Coasties Card members get 5% of their order if pre-booked.

7. Aromas on Sea, Terrigal

Did someone say Mediterranean beachfront café? Aromas on Sea sits right on the very doorstep of Terrigal Beach, making it the perfect spot to eat after soaking up all that sweet morning sunshine. The Aromas Beach Brekkie is definitely a hit on the menu, sure to fill you up with it’s spread of eggs, bacon, a homemade bean mix, gourmet sausages, grilled tomatos, baby spinach, marinated mushrooms and a hashbrown – all on toasted organic sourdough. Brunch and a show indeed!

8.  The Cove Cafe, Terrigal

A short walk around the boardwalk is another of Terrigal’s must-visit cafes, with stunning views of the water – usually much more peaceful on this sheltered side –  and the Skillion. Try the Cove Cafe’s Green Eggs and Ham brekkie with its scrambled eggs, salsa verde, serrano ham and thick-cut sourdough for a fun start to the day, or switch it up with another of its all-day winter breakfast options like the smoked salmon bagel. It’s a win either way.

9. Macs Beach Cafe, Macmasters

‘Surf, beats, brews and bites’ is Macs Beach Cafe‘s motto – and it sticks to it, with its delicious range of all-day brekkie options, direct beach and rockpool access and occasional music gigs. It truly doesn’t get any closer to the water than this. We definitely recommend the Halloumi Brekky roll and mango smoothie. Delicious!

10. The Box Ettalong, Ettalong

The most perfect spot for a lazy arvo bevvie and lunch. Situated on an absolute waterfront location down in Ettalong, whether you sit inside or out you get to take in the incredible panoramic views out across Broken Bay and Box Head that The Box Ettalong offers.

Absolute perfection we say.
