Okay, we’ll break it to you gently, dog friendly camping spots in NSW are slim and on the Central Coast there’s only a few.
Sadly none of our national parks allow overnight stays for dogs. And our only state forest, Strickland Forest, currently doesn’t allow camping.
So if you really want an off-the-grid experience it’s not really going to happen.

That’s the bad news. The good news is we’ve found four camping spots that are pet friendly and have some pretty awesome facilities…
1. Toowoon Bay Holiday Park

For a mere $51 a night, you can sleep right next to the ocean at the dog-friendly Toowoon Bay Holiday Park. It’s one dog per booking, so that’s something to keep in mind if you’ve a few doggies. On site, there’s a swimming pool, splash pad and jumping pillow for younger kids. Best of all, you can head into Flour & Co each morning for your coffee. If that’s not enough reason to book immediately, we don’t know what is.
A peaceful spot just a stone’s throw from Norah Head or the more bustling Toukley. This is another dog-friendly camping spot on the Central Coast, with an unpowered site with a private en-suite bathroom costing $52 a night at Canton Beach Holiday Park. It’s a great spot for the fishing aficionados amongst us, with boat access to the surrounding waterways. Fancy something other than a camp BBQ for dinner? Hit up tapas bar, Johnny Tapas in Norah Head. A true culinary delight!
3. Norah Head Holiday Park
Norah Head Holiday Park
Close to Canton but offering a different experience is the Norah Head Holiday Park, with swimming pool, water park and playground making it perfect for kids as well as pets. A powered tourist site is $48 a night. If you want a breakie and a decent coffee off-site then head to The Island. Tell them we sent you!
Congratulation!
