New Openings on the Central Coast – Spring 2025
Awakind Yoga, Tascott

Built on the idea of ‘awakening the kindness within,’ Awakind Yoga is a small studio where everyone feels seen, supported and welcomed just as they are. The name and tagline reflect owner Kelly Mohrenberger’s belief that yoga isn’t about perfection or performance, but about creating space to slow down, reconnect, and show yourself a little kindness. The current timetable has been shaped by community feedback, with a mix of regular hatha yoga, yin yoga, yoga with weights and meditation classes, and the schedule will grow and change with the people it serves. This is yoga that fits with your lifestyle, rather than the other way around. And because classes are kept small, you get plenty of one-on-one support, with little adjustments, encouragement and ‘you’ve got this’ moments that make a world of difference.
As a yoga teacher and a mum, Kelly knows first-hand how hard it can be to carve out time for yourself. That’s why Awakind offers private parents ’n’ bubs sessions – available as one-off classes or six-week courses on request – making it that little bit easier to squeeze in some mindfulness between feeds, naps and ABC Kids. She’s also a big advocate for time-efficient practices like yoga with weights, a class style that combines the benefits of both strength training and yoga into a single session – perfect for busy parents or anyone who’s short on free time.

Kelly herself is a 350+ hour trained yoga teacher and a registered Level 1 Teacher with Yoga Australia. She teaches across hatha, yin, chair yoga, pregnancy and postpartum yoga, bringing both skill and lived experience into her classes. Having discovered how yoga helped her balance the pressures of everyday life, she’s passionate about showing others how to integrate yoga into their own life, equipping them with the knowledge to bring about change and empowering them with practices to thrive. And true to her values, Kelly has also committed to planting a tree for every class taught at Awakind Yoga, creating a ripple of kindness and connection that extends well beyond the studio walls.
Deepwater Art Space, Woy Woy
Created with a whole lot of heart, Deepwater Art Space is all about celebrating local artists and giving them a platform to shine – with a warm dose of community connection for good measure. The light-filled gallery invites makers to create, exhibit and sell their work, while also giving the public a chance to watch art come to life. With inspiring workshops, live art sessions and regular exhibitions, Deepwater is quickly becoming a home for creativity and connection in Woy Woy. If you’re a practising artist or simply love soaking up local talent, it’s the kind of place where you walk in curious and leave inspired.

Area 51 Gym and Recovery, Green Point
Ever wished you could smash out a gym session and then roll straight into recovery mode without leaving the building? That’s exactly what Area 51 Gym and Recovery in Green Point is all about, offering a fully equipped gym alongside state-of-the-art recovery facilities to balance performance with self-care. It’s the kind of setup usually reserved for elite athletes, but here it’s available to everyday Coasties.
On the gym floor, you’ll find everything you need for a solid workout, suitable for all fitness levels. Then head to the recovery zone to boost circulation, reduce inflammation and melt away the stress with ice baths, a steam sauna and a magnesium hot plunge. At its core, Area 51 is about balance: pushing yourself when you need to, then giving your body the tools to bounce back. And that’s a pretty epic combo.

Kondōu, Kincumber

True to their gentle and intentional approach, Kondōu has quietly expanded, with room for more luxurious rituals, more breath, and more space to exhale. A natural extension of the wellness practices they’ve become loved for, it’s built to host intimate wellness events, collaborative offerings and deeper-care rituals, so locals have a place to slow down, recalibrate, and glow from the inside out.
