Asian Restaurants Central Coast
1. Yusu, EttalongÂ
Flying fairly under the radar unless you’re a local, Yusu is a favourite Ettalong restaurant that can be easy to miss if you’re not looking. It’s tucked away in the Galleria at Ettalong and its storefront is just off the main road. This family-owned, compact restaurant is well deserving of being ranked one of the best Japanese restaurants on the Coast. With tempura, sashimi and katsu dishes, the flavours are authentic and are the next best thing outside of Japan.
2. Maew Maew, TerrigalÂ
Since it’s makeover of the beautiful upstairs space boasting views of Terrigal Beach just across the road, this Asian bar’s lantern-lit tables and thoughtful recipes have made it not only just a top spot to grab a signature cocktail, but also a great culinary experience. Enjoy a few Shanghai pork dumplings before diving into the Pad Se Ew wagyu beef platter, or otherwise check out Maew Maew’s two delicious banquet options to have your taste buds dancing.

3. Thaiger Temple, TerrigalÂ
The Samingkaw family have been in the Thai restaurant business for over 25 years, so they’ve definitely earned their stripes when it comes to their Terrigal restaurant offering of Thaiger Temple. These peeps know how to do Thai; no wonder they’re dubbed the Thai culinary kings of the Central Coast.
Here you’ll find incredible Asian eats, a buzzy restaurant vibe and stellar cocktails. And there’s a seriously wide array of Thai dishes such as Pad See Ew and Laksa decorating the menu, as well as a twist of other popular Asian dishes such as bao buns and duck pancakes. Always a winner.Â
Located in the heart of bustling Terrigal on the Esplanade Thaiger Temple has indoor and outdoor seating and serves up delicious, fresh dishes and brilliant cocktails.  And, did we mention the decor? We’re instantly transported straight to Asia.
4. 88 Alley, Gosford
Looking for a traditional Chinese feast? Our favourite spot at Coasties has to be 88 Alley found within Gosford RSL. The chef has cut his teeth in some of the finest Chinese restaurants in Sydney. Try the pork belly. You won’t regret it!
5. Yasaka Japanese, Long Jetty
Born in September of 2020, Yasaka in Long Jetty was one of the greatest new thing to grace the streets of Long Jetty. Inside this pocket of a restaurant is Japanese calligraphy and artworks, symbolic of the owners’ Japanese heritage. They’re all about quality over quantity when it comes to their small but mighty menu, much like any authentic Japanese restaurant. The restaurant freshly makes each of their items and sources them from the Sydney Fish Market. Try the deep-fried oysters, served with Yasaka’s original ponzu sauce, if they are on the menu. A combination made in heaven.Â
6. Cecilia’s, Toowoon Bay
Leading Toowoon Bay restaurant, Cecilia’s is the perfect place to enjoy superior Asian-inspired cuisine. Cecilia’s menu is ignited by the unique flavours of Japan, with head chef Adam Viner introducing new flavours, techniques and ingredients that will push your flavour boundaries to an unthinkable level. Try the roasted king prawns, with broccoli rabe, and chilli yuzu vinaigrette, or perhaps the red miso lamb rack, with smoked potato, green onion and shiso yoghurt if that’s more your speed. Whatever the dish, you’re in for a treat.Â
7. Yellowtail, Terrigal
Modern Australian meets Asian-style cuisine, Yellowtail is Terrigal’s finest dining experience that offers all the best flavours that the Coast has on hand. From Japan to Thailand, it’s guaranteed that you’ll be taken on a journey of deep, distinguished flavours. With snapper sashimi, green chilli, finger lime, galangal and coconut or roti and coconut rice, you’ll be served the perfect slice of Asia on your plate. Â
8. Ming Dragon, Tumbi Umbi
For those looking for a decent yum cha on the Central Coast, we’ve finally found a contender for the best. Found within Mingara Recreation Club, Ming Dragon is now serving a huge range of authentic dim sum dishes. There are about 40 different dishes to choose from, including scallop and prawn dim sum, bao buns and salt and pepper tofu. For the vegeterians, there’s also plenty of choice.
Congratulation!
