Whether it’s a new whacky and wonderful creation or a crisp can’t-go-wrong classic, you don’t have to look far on the Central Coast for a good cocktail. However, here are a few haunts that stand above the rest.
1. Maew Maew, Terrigal
With cocktails looking this good, we are instantly a “Yes please, and give us one of every cocktail on the menu, please”. We can confirm though, that the cocktails at Terrigal’s upstairs cocktail bar and restaurant Maew Maew, taste just as good as they look and have to be some of the very best cocktails on the Central Coast. They are not just a pretty face.  We are in love with the Charred Pineappled Chilli Marg, actually we are in love with all the cocktails, the decor, the food at Maew Maew and we know you will be too!
2. Motel Mezza, Wyong
What an absolute gem this bar is. Housed inside an art deco building on the central strip of Wyong, Motel Mezza has its eye firmly on carefully created cocktails and delightful small share plates. The Axel Rose – a gin cocktail made with rose water – is exceptional, as is the sumac and chilli squid from the bar menu. Oh, and flash your Coasties Card at Motel Mezza as they offer an exclusive cocktail discount for members!
3. Frankie’s Rooftop, Woy Woy
It isn’t looking like you’ll be visiting Venice anytime soon but you can head to the Venice of Australia, aka Woy Woy. And overlooking the stunning waterways is Frankie’s Rooftop. The vibe is cool, the cocktails slick and the service always spot on. Our favourite is Who Shot The Gigolo, which is spicy and sweet.
4. The Beachie, Toukley
Pool-side cabana and margaritas make for a perfect day. The Beachie is an epic waterfront spot that is brilliant for sundowners, with a DJ playing, and then a late night kick on. SO.MUCH.FUN. It has been newly renovated and truly speaks to the Coastal lifestyle of cool and easy breezy. Their cocktail selection is pretty impressive, from classics, to jugs and a range available on tap for those not wanting to wait!

Terrigal Bars to Visit
Terrigal has always been a melting pot of watering hole options. Have you found the secret upstairs hideaway bar yet?
5. Void Bar, Terrigal
Hidden upstairs on the back side of Church Street, Void Bar has dark vibes and tasty cocktails. Live music on the weekends in a warm and intimate setting with a pool table and a pretty impressive range of craft beers. Did we mention the mezcal? We love mezcal.
6. Pocket Bar, Terrigal
Located only a stones throw from Terrigal Beach, the relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, ridiculous cocktails and ever-popular menu, makes it the perfect place to go if you’re after something a little different. If you’re lucky enough to snag a couch, you could find it mighty hard to leave! Alternatively, you can flash your Coasties Card and get 20% off takeaway cocktails. Either way, we love Pocket Bar!
7. Mumbo Jumbos, Terrigal
It’s actually impossible to visit Mumbo Jumbos and not have a good time, and that’s thanks to their awesome rum-based cocktails, delicious Caribbean fare and an unrivalled buzzy atmosphere. If summer was a bar, it would be Mumbo’s’ and we are here for it!
8. Rhondas, Terrigal
A margarita on the balcony at Rhonda’s is up there in our top favourite things to do on the Coast. The team are master mixologists, and pick a quiet time and they’re usually happy to create a cocktail that is unique to your individual taste. Add in the most superior slices of pizza on the Coast and you’re onto a winner.
9. Terrigal Beach House
Terrigal Beach House is leaning into the cooler winter months with a brand new and exciting winter cocktail offering in their Mulled Aperol. The popular Aperol Spritz has been reimagined and taken on a cold-weather twist! Sip on this or any of the in depth cocktail menu as you taken in the sweeping ocean views from one of Terrigal’s long standing and most iconic venues.

10. Dunes by Dish, Norah Head
Soldier’s Beach is one of our favourites, with it’s towering dunes and green-covered slopes, so it’s no surprise that it’s very own Dunes by Dish restaurant has one of our favourite bars! With a long line-up of expertly crafted drinks and a stunning view of the beach, you’ll be set for the night! Additionally, Coasties Members can get 10% off each cocktail – a pretty neat deal.
11. Shady Palms, Avoca
Not only some of the best cocktails on the Coast but you can also sop up the alcohol with their incredible woodfire pizzas. Shady Palms is a great option for a cocktail bar on the Central Coast. Friday nights are family friendly but Saturdays is the perfect day to meet the friends. Or Sunday afternoon, who doesn’t love a Sunday session to really stretch out that weekend?
12. Daley’s Bar, Daleys Point
The night-life counterpart to the super popular Daley’s Kitchen. Thr chic Daley’s Bar Daley’s Bar promises good times galore with tapas and cocktails on the menu, as well as live music and high vibes.
The cocktail menu features some classics – think margis, daiquiris, cosmos, mojitos and more. But, what we love are the unique creations. Whichever cocktail floats your boat they all come with an “I am” as the prefix. We love the I am Daleyana Goddess, I am Strong (not for the faint hearted) and of course, our fave I am Margarita.
13. Bar Toto, Ettalong
This Ettalong late-night speakeasy is like stepping back into yesteryear. The interiors at Bar Toto are classic, with vintage leather sofas, low lighting and retro art hanging from the walls. But really, it’s all about the cocktails here. The mixologists are magicians, if magicians love mixing strong spirits, that is. Try the Bobby Boy.
14. Little Miss Mezza, West Gosford
The little sis to Motel Mezza. But, if we’re honest there is nothing little about this spot! She packs a punch. From the exquisite internal fitout to the perfectly curated Middle Eastern (with a Modern Aussie twist) dishes to the “provocative and experimental” cocktail menu it’s easy to see that no detail has been spared.
Experimental can sometimes be hit and miss, however not here. The cocktails at Little Miss Mezza are 100% on point.
15 Drifter’s Wharf, Gosford
Drifter’s Wharf in Gosford is a multi-million dollar bar and eatery that has 360-degree water views. It’s by the same team behind Terrigal’s Mumbo Jumbo’s and Shady Palms. In short, the cocktails are stellar. With a view like the one on offer here, it is hard to beat. Why not start here and then mosey on in to the heart of Gosford for some dinner and further drinks.

16. Hotel Gosford
For a sophisticated inner-city cocktail bar vibe, then it has to be Hotel Gosford. Their staff will happily whip up a classic cocktail or if you’re feeling adventurous, try one of their new recipes – all found on their signature cocktail list! If you are a commuter or work in or around Gosford, this has to be our number one pick for after work sipsies.
17. The Savoy, Long Jetty
There’s a few different options at The Savoy. We always go for the Pretty Woman, which is vodka, lychee, grapefruit and mint. It tastes more like pure summer than working girl, which is probably for the best. They also have a good range of signature bottled cocktails and cocktails on tap. Grab your choice and head up to the old movie theatre section, or hang barside within the lounge.
