Pinot and Picasso Central Coast
Let’s face it. We are not all artists. Whilst we love the idea of spending an afternoon creating a masterpiece, pesky realities such as cleaning up and a disappointing lack of talent often overshadow the dream. The lovely people at Pinot and Picasso are here to nurture your deepest artistic musings. They offer step by step guidance to creating a masterpiece. Plus, they clean up.
If like us, you’d heard of Pinot and Picasso but weren’t quite sure what it was all about. Can you only drink Pinot? Paint Picasso paintings only? The reality is that there is a cornucopia of artistic options on offer and they are ready to host your next event at their new, parking-friendly, studio in Erina. As their name suggests, the ‘Paint and Sip’ experiences are well known on the Central Coast. These sessions invite budding artists to bring their own wine, bubbles or beer and coax an artwork to life during a guided tutorial. Sessions can be found on their website where an extensive catalogue of titles makes it easy to discover an artwork that suits any artistic mood.
Current upcoming sessions include explorations of the natural world in ‘Under the Sea; or ‘Dusk Till Dawn’. Or for the more chic clientele, the Marilyn Monroe inspired Chanel No. 5. will transport you to another world. You can paint your Santorini dream, or create a homage to celebrated Mexican artist Frida. Our favourite is the Paint Your Pet option where you bring a photo and leave with a portrait of your pooch (or goldfish…).
Studio manager, Mel oversees the creative adventures and loves watching her clients discover new skills. “They surprise themselves,” she said. “They come in and say they can’t paint but then they find this new skill. It’s an empowering thing to watch.”
Mel and her team have also added many exciting new options to their catalogue. The new Textured Art sessions offer different techniques with paint, assisting clients in building a layered, elevated piece of art ready to hang in their house. Pinot and Picasso’s RnB Nights bring the vibe for artists who want a bit of grooving with their painting. The lights switch off throughout the session to make way for Neon Nights where artworks are adorned with some neon accents. Next up on the RnB schedule is Beyonce. Turning artmaking into a neon disco featuring Queen B? As they say on their website, “Picasso, can you handle this?”

Pinot and Picasso also offer exciting private group sessions which cater for all occasions. Whether it be corporate bonding sessions, children’s birthdays or retirement parties, Mel and her team are ready to host. In addition to the guided artwork tutorial, clients are able to bring their own food, alcohol and can decorate the studio to suit their occasion. This allows enormous creative freedom where clients are not limited to catering packages.
“People love it,” said Mel. “We have had some fantastic setups.”
Popular private bookings include Hen’s Nights where personalised touches ensure that the event will be remembered. “People bring portraits of the groom which can be hilarious!” said Mel. Other unique group options are baby showers or gender reveals where clients personalise onesies and paint milestone cards for the anticipated arrival.
