The swimming hole is man-made but no one really knows how it got there. After all, it’s so deep within the Brisbane Water National Park that most struggle to find it.

But for those who do, it is an idyllic experience. The pool’s waters are beautifully clear and there’s panoramic views over the picture-perfect surrounding bush.

So, how exactly do you get to this secret Woy Woy waterfall and infinity pool? And is it safe? We’ve got all the answers to all the questions.

How To Get to The Secret Woy Woy Infinity Pool

The secret Woy Woy Waterfall is located within Brisbane Water National Park. It is found on the Tunnel Fire Trail but this track has many different routes.

First up, you’ll need to drive out of Woy Woy on Woy Woy Road as if going to Kariong and West Gosford.  There’s a car park that fits just under ten cars on the left hand-side if coming from Woy Woy. Park here.

Now it’s time to jump on the Fire Trail. This is a 5.6km round journey so it’s important to have correct footwear and water, especially on a hot day. However, most of this walk is pretty flat.

So, once on the track you’ll walk just over one kilometre before you reach a sign post that says turn right for Tunnel Track and Rocky Ponds. To the left is an unmarked track. This is the one to follow.

About 15 minutes later, you’ll reach what will appear to be a dead end. It isn’t. To your right you’ll find a smaller track. You need to follow this one.

After a few minutes, you’ll come across a creek. Good news! You’re on the right track and nearly there.

Bad news, you do have to wade through the creek but it will take you directly to the top of the waterfall.

It is absolutely essential that you’re careful at this point. It’s a deep drop over the cliff’s edge. You need to take a right here and a path down boulders opens up that’ll take you directly to the infinity pool.

Things to Remember

The walk is pretty flat and pretty safe until the last part. Once at the final part, it is essential to be careful. There’s many sharp drops and it can get slippery, especially after heavy rainfall.

This is not suitable for young children.

We seriously do not recommend visiting after heavy rainfall.

And last but not least, this is a compact swim space with limited space to get in and out so practise social distancing and if packed, just wait sunbake on the top until people leave.

What’s next? Let’s head over to the only nudist beach on the Central Coast. Suns out, bums out.
