Birdie Beach in Munmorah State Conservation Area is the only nudist beach on the Central Coast, and one of only three official nudist beaches in the northern NSW region.
Located between Wybung Head and the Budgewoi Peninsula, the idyllic stretch of sand has become a firm favourite with those who prefer to soak up the sun sans swimmers.
The others are North Belongil Beach close to Byron Bay and Samurai Beach, if you’re wondering. We’re guessing you might be.
So back to Birdie Beach. The stunning spot has been attracting naked beachgoers for over two decades. It’s all suns out buns out here.

So, how do you get to Birdie Beach?
You can actually drive right up to the beach, following Birdie Beach Drive. But if you prefer a hike then drive up Wybung Head Road and look for the sign for the Geebung Heath Track.
There’s camping at Freemans Campground if you want to make a weekend of it.
The beach itself can attract decent surf waves so when it comes to swimming it’s important to remember this isn’t patrolled.
The Rules of Nudist Beaches
Okay, it kind of goes without saying that while it’s totally okay for you to take photos of yourself and surrounds, it’s not okay to take pictures of other people. So when taking photos, it’s important to keep this in mind.
You don’t actually have to be nude to go on a nude beach. If you want to wear your swimmers and still enjoy Birdie Beach then go for it.
Public decency. Just because you’re nude and maybe your partner is nude, you can’t start getting down and dirty on the beach. This is a public place after all!
