What’s on at The Art House Wyong this April school holidays?
If you haven’t yet gathered the kidlets and the family to attend a show at The Art House in Wyong then we say, “What are you waiting for?”
The Art House is more than just a theatre, it is an award winning, state-of-the-art performance space that is committed to bringing quality experiences and entertainment to the Central Coast. They have cemented themselves as the centre of arts and culture in the region, meaning you no longer need to travel to Sydney to catch an epic performance.
Great care goes into their programming, ensuring there is a show for everybody, and that includes your kids. Coming off the back of the predominantly sold-out Summer at the Art House season, the team is beyond excited to announce their upcoming April School Holiday program, featuring jaw-dropping circus and a sprinkling of silly-sweet science.
First up, be blown away by Australia’s National Youth Circus company, Flying Fruit Flies in TEMPO. The talent of the cast is next level and not only are they incredible circus performers, but they will also wow the crowd with the instruments they play live on stage as part of the show.
This performance is suited for kids aged from 6 years and their family. It is a true family friendly circus experience with incredible aerial acts and acrobatics that are guaranteed to induce plenty of gasps and leave you wow’d in your seat.
As Flying Fruit Fly Circus would say this show is “perhaps essential, for all families!”
Performances are Friday, April 19 at 7PM and Saturday, April 20 at 10:30AM. This one will sell out quickly so book your spot here now.

Next up we’ve got the very funny and wacky yet also educational and multi award winning, science facts show You Are a Doughnut!, by That Science Gang.
There will be singing, dancing, clowning, sketches, ping pong balls, toilet paper cannons, fart jokes and sensational science. The set is big and bold and the wild and slightly mad scientist teachers are dedicated to providing the funniest and weirdest poetry performance you’ve ever seen. All while even learning something.
Recommended ages 5 – 12 with performances on Monday, April 22 at 6PM, Tuesday 23rd April at 10AM and 12:30PM, and Wednesday, April 24 at 10AM in the Studio (opposite the cafe). For Studio performances seating is unassigned but interaction is high. To book just click here.
School holiday shows at The Art House Wyong
Lastly, The Art House will take kids back into the first week of Term 2 with something for the slightly older kids who love gadgets, how things work and sci-fi inventions (aged between 6-12). Whalebone is a highlighted show on the program with two school group performances and a 6PM show for an after-school treat. Let your imagination soar wild as this show takes you on a fantastical journey of invention and rogue machines that start to take over our decision-making abilities as humans. For kids with an interest in Sci-Fi, technology, inventing, STEAM, or experiments, this is a show they need to see.
There will be fast-paced and sensational video effects and animations as well as a fair whack of twitchy sounds, so this one is not recommended for those for whom sensory overload is a thing. It does include a post-show Q&A for audience members to get the inside look at some of the show gadgets.
Showing on Thursday, May 2 at 10AM and 6PM and Friday, May 3 at 10AM. Book here.
