NSW’s Biggest Walk-Through Caves

Found in the Munmorah State Conservation Area, Ghosties Beach boasts to having one of the biggest walk-through caves on Australia’s East Coast.

What’s even better is that during high tide, the water laps up to the caves edge creating a perfect pocket to swim in. And the water is perfectly clear.

To get here, drive into the Munmorah State Conservation Area and you’ll have a choice to go towards Frazer Beach or Moonee. Head towards Moonee Beach and you’ll see a sign for a walking trail. Park here.

You take the the trail down towards the beach which is only a short 20 minute walk. Head south along Moonee Beach and at the end of the beach you’ll see a sand dune. Once over this, you’ve landed in Ghosties Beach.

you head towards the white sands of Moonee Beach and it’s actually the beach before. You need to take the Moonee walking track, as if you’re heading towards Timber Beach.

The waters are the clearest and prettiest you’ll see on the Central Coast.

Things To Know Before Visiting

This is an unpatrolled beach so if swimming make sure you’re with someone. There’s also bluebottles in this area during the season, in the late summer.

And during high season, you might not get a park here as there’s not much space.  But Frazer Beach around the corner is an awesome alternative.
