Whether you’re after a wholesome bite next to the freeway, a picnic pack for a bush walk or a family-friendly feed, make sure Somersby’s Triple Two Cafe is on your hit list, we promise you won’t regret it.
Here at Coasties, we pride ourselves on keeping things local but this time we’re going to let the cat out of the bag and uncover a BIG secret.
Triple Two Cafe named the best cafe in Somersby on Central Coast
Tucked away behind the Freeway and not far from the Reptile Park at Somersby there’s a little cafe with a big punch. Until now it’s been the best kept secret of the tradies and workers who frequent the industrial warehouse precinct, but we’ve been popping up to Triple Two Cafe to quash caffeine cravings and feed famished families for a little while now and think you deserve to know about our secret haunt too.
Open from 7am until 2pm on weekdays, Triple Two Cafe pumps out the bacon and egg rolls, breakfast wraps and muffins and coffees to a stream of regular, happy customers on the daily.
But it’s their pre-ordered breakfast and lunch catering packs for groups of five or more, and incredible takeaway menu (read: pretty much everything can be freshly made to go) that’s worth a mention, especially for those heading for a day trip to the Reptile Park with the kids, or Somersby Falls for a trek and scrumptious picnic.
Owner Hailey Ford says she took over the business about a year and a half ago after falling in love with the cute little cafe while visiting her husband’s nearby work.
A chef by trade, she’d spent the past 12 years raising her three beautiful children. But when she found out the “cute cafe was up for sale” she knew it was opportunity knocking.
“Our driving force is to support local, we try to get all of the little guys in to have their produce in the cafe,” Hailey told Coasties.
“There’s a lot of passion and drive here, everyone’s heart is in it and we think that pays off with the feedback from our customers.”

The team driving that passion consists of Hailey’s dad Steve, who is the welcoming front of house smile the locals love, alongside her sister in law Melly, and kitchen gurus Julia and Kirsty, who is the head chef and brains behind the menu planning.
The fresh, seasonal menu includes old favourites like eggs benedict rolls and Triple Two’s very own, homemade house baked pork sausage rolls; beef brisket and chicken ranch burgers, steak sandwiches and some pretty special salads like the cajun spiced chicken bowl with fresh lime, Mexican rice, black beans and shallots, with pineapple salsa.
The weekly specials will delight with dishes like three citrus crumbed barramundi, lime slaw and mango salsa tacos; bubble and squeak with a twist or Spanish chorizo and goats cheese quiche. Pardon us while we wipe the drool from our faces as we think about what to order next!
Even the kids are catered for – with healthier options like toasted sandwiches on offer (you won’t find frozen nuggets here).
Hailey and her team are super passionate about ensuring as much of their produce is sourced locally as possible, which means you know you’re giving the Central Coast community a nice big hug when you order something at Triple Two.
“We have so many niche, beautiful little businesses on the Central Coast who work super hard to get their businesses to where they are, and I feel if everybody supports each other we can help to show what we have to offer. It’s a really special thing to be able to do,” Hailey reasoned.
With La Tartine organic sourdough from Sombersby, Saltwater Honey from Norah Head and Glee coffee from Wyong among many of the local offerings, you can be sure that stopping into Triple Two for a coffee and a meal will be worth it. Tell ‘em Coasties sent you.
