Let’s be real here. You all know Coasties Magazine loves to share the new, fresh and exciting with you, our audience, It’s kind of what we’ve done since our launch in September 2020. And drum roll please, as we want to share the next chapter of our journey with you.
We are incredibly excited to announce that Coasties Magazine is now in the very capable hands of two local businesswoman, Nikki Tiedeman and Tash Robertson. As of today, these extraordinary powerhouses will lead the next stage of Coasties Magazine. Exciting!
Tash shares, “Nikki and I have worked together in different roles for years. We both share the same passion for small businesses, and when the opportunity to take over Coasties Magazine came up, we simply couldn’t turn it down.”
And for Nikki, she has been part of the Coasties Magazine journey since the very start. “What started out with me advertising my own small business in the mag, ended up with me tapping into my wealth of experience as a sales leader and taking over as the Sales and Partnerships Manager of Coasties about a year ago. Throughout my time in the role I’ve absolutely loved connecting and building relationships with our amazing Coast business owners. To now own Coasties Magazine with Tash is incredibly exciting.”
For those who have followed Coasties Magazine’s journey, you will have watched as local mum and journalist Amy Nelmes Bissett launched the magazine during the height of the pandemic. The ethos from the very start was to create a publication that inspired locals to support local businesses.
After all, it was the only way we would re-build our economy and strengthen our community after the damaging effects of COVID-19.
In 18 months, Coasties Magazine has helped drive traffic into more than a 1000 local businesses. The Coasties Card is the only #supportlocal membership card, offering deals in local businesses, in Australia. And the Coasties community has united to shop small across our region.
Amy Nelmes Bissett explains, “Coasties Magazine has enjoyed unprecedented success in spreading the support local message. And that is down to our incredible and loyal readers, our highly-engaged social media following, and most of all, our much-loved local businesses.
“Coasties Magazine is now a juggernaut in the local landscape, and that would never have happened if the local businesses didn’t spread our message as much as we spread theirs. That is the magic of the Coasties community. We all have each other’s back.”
After 18 months at the helm of Coasties Magazine, Amy will now hand over the reigns to Nikki and Tash – who are raring to take the publication to another level.
“I always say Coasties Magazine has been my third baby. Anyone who has launched a business, and built it up from scratch will share that sentiment,” says Amy. “And now Coasties Magazine is ready for a very exciting new chapter, and I’m overjoyed that both Nikki and Tash are the ones who will be leading this. Coasties Magazine is now in very good hands.”
Wamberal mum-of-one – and nearly of two – Nikki says, “Taking over the helm of Coasties alongside Tash from the legend that is Amy, it honestly feels like a dream come true. I am so ridiculously excited for the next chapter in the Coasties journey, as well as what the future holds for us here on the Coast as we grow our region together.”
Tash, who is a mum of two from Forresters Beach, says she is looking forward to drawing from her extensive experience working with over 300 local businesses here on the Central Coast.
“I understand the highs and lows of owning a small business,” explains Tash. “As hard as the past few years have been for many, I have really enjoyed working closely with local businesses to help them cement their place in the market. I have dedicated countless hours educating local business owners and helping them work out strategies to succeed during these times and beyond.”
The dynamic duo already have many exciting plans for Coasties Magazine. What will definitely remain the same is the publication’s unwavering dedication to supporting local businesses on the Central Coast.
