Eat more hole foods. That’s the tag line for the incredible Wyong doughnut shop, the Daily Dough Co. And it would appear that the best part of Central Coast are following the advice.
In the first month of opening, back in July 2020, it was a daily sell-out.
And since, the allure has hardly wavered. From 9am, from Thursday through to Sunday, queues snake around the pocket-size doughnut shop found on the grounds of the Wyong Milk Factory. An hour queue isn’t unusual.

Wyong Milk Factory Doughnut Shop
And it is worth the wait. Inside are rows upon rows of handmade doughnuts, spiked with creative flavours that leave you quickly forgetting the doughnuts of yesteryear. You know the ones, tossed in brown sugar and served in a greasy paper bag.
They’re as a big as your hand, filled with rich crème brulee or apple crumble or Nutella, depending on the day and the creators’ whim.
And you can watch the busy doughnut-making wizards magic up these extravagant creations in the windowed kitchen, where they’ve been since 2am and continue to churn them out until 4pm each day. It’s not dissimilar to scene from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
The Hottest Dessert Spot
And the high turnover means you’ll always get a fresh doughnut. The doughnut itself is incredibly light (we’ll save you from saying ‘moist’), off-setting the richness of the filling.
And – drum roll, please – the coffee is created with care, elevating this spot to more than just a doughnut shop.
It’s a grab-and-go set-up here. There’s no seating, not even outside. You choose your doughnut (or five… no judgement) and pick up your coffee, and you’re then ushered out of the space to let the next eager patron in. But you can take your treats to the park around the corner which has outdoor seating.
But be warned: no matter your usual eating etiquette, there’s no delicate chowing down on these. You will get covered. There’s icing flying in all directions and raspberry jam or Nutella squirting all over the place.
This is a doughnut to eat with long-term friends, long-term lovers or just in private. Whatever you do, do not go on a first date here – unless you’re not that into them.
