The team have been teasing the arrivals of many species to the zoo on their Facebook page. And this is who they’ve welcomed so far:

  • Family of meerkats
  • Marmosets
  • Capybara
  • African serval
  • Black-Capped Capuchin Monkeys
  • African grey parrots
  • Red-tailed boa restrictor

But perhaps the most exciting is the arrival of a pride of six lions that arrived in late September.

“The Central Coast Zoo is excited to announce we are now home to a family pride of African Lions” they shared on Facebook. “We have been very busy during the past few months creating a beautiful retirement home for the last six performing African Lions in Australia from the Stardust Circus due to the COVID-19 pandemic closures.”
