Towering burgers, wood-fire pizza joints and even a marshmallow dessert bar, these Central Coast restaurants and cafes just opened their doors.
And we’ve visited each of them to ensure they’re worthy of your time and dollar.
Here’s your guide to the nine newest Central Coast restaurant openings that made the cut. Let’s check ‘em out….
Moobi Valley Butchery & Burgers, Berkeley Vale
Stop what you are doing, jump in the car and immediately drive to Berkeley Vale. What awaits you is pure genius. A butchery with an in-house burger joint. Talk about cutting out the middle man. Over the years, Moobi Valley has gained a reputation for their top-quality meats, delivered all over NSW. But a few months back, the team let slip on Instagram they were opening a walk-in butchery where you could buy a steak for dinner but also chow down on a burger right there for lunch. And since opening in May, they’ve lived up to the hype. The burgers are first class.
Nero’s Woodfire Pizza, Woy Woy
Pssst. The pizza oven in the former Tropicana Pizza Pizza site in Woy Woy is firing back up but with a new chef at the helm. The Central Coast restaurant has now been taken over by a Coastie chef who earnt his stripes in the big bad kitchens of Sydney. In short, his culinary skills are sharp. And rumour has it he’s now creating the most superior slice on the peninsula. And there’s a gluten-free option. Go try it and tag us in at @coastiesmag 🙌
Oh yes they did. The famous Wyong institute have only gone an opened a brand-new dessert bar and it’s hands down the most delicious addition to the Central Coast. Each dessert has been created to showcase their outrageously squidgy marshmallow. And let’s call it, the marshmallow toastie with Nutella is outstanding. It’s a showstopper. A game changer. A sugar high we all need to get through the 2021 hump month of June.
Never has a coffee van looked so adorable. The newly opened BlackFinn Espresso, found on Toukley’s Main Road, is a speciality coffee van with each blend handpicked with care. There’s a limited but delicious mix of breakfast eats (try the avo on toast) and plenty of seating next to this cute coffee pod on wheels. An awesome addition to the northern reaches of the Central Coast.
New Central Coast Restaurant Opens in Ettalong
There’s a new Mexican restaurant in Ettalong. A big welcome to Le Taco, the newest addition to the Galleria in Ettalong and what an addition it is. Fresh margaritas, authentic Mexican fare and a firm focus on fresh produce. They’re even offering a kangaroo meat taco. Yes, they went there. Don’t leave without trying the ceviche though. Oh and there’s even kid-friendly options.

Since opening last month, Sorrento Pizzeria has been a sell out every night. In fact, on most weekends they’ve sold an incredible 200 bases. And there’s a reason why. The Neapolitan-style wood-fire pizza is as authentic as being served a slice in Italy. The atmosphere is warm. And there’s something strangely satisfying about being able to watch your dinner be made just moments from your table. A true stand out!
This isn’t just a café, Better Days Café is a social enterprise partnering with the Salvation Army Employment Plus team. In other words, the café is giving jobs, training and work experience to local young people who’ve struggled with access to paid work. But we’ll let you in on a secret: the feel good factor doesn’t just come from knowing you’re supporting a good cause… the coffee is aaa-mazing.
Central Coast Cannoli, Lisarow
After a bit of a stop-and-go opening in April due to some official papers not being signed, sealed and delivered, Central Coast Cannoli has finally opened its doors in Lisarow. Inside you’ll find lines after lines of the most perfect cannoli and in turn, lines and lines of people desperate to get their mitts on them. Often a sell out so get in early.
Simply Better Wine, Avoca Beach
Oh, we’re into that name. This new wonderful wine shop is the latest addition to Avoca Beach, found just down from Becker & Co and up from one of our favourite boutique, The Endless Summer. Inside, there’s rows after rows of handpicked wines of the highest standard. They’ve a great organic range. You can even join their wine club, delivering six bottles at the frequency you deem fit (weekly?) for $269.
