Date night? Valentine’s Day? Just feeling the love? It was a tough task to land on a top 10 list for this because our food game is strong Coasties. But, here it is, the list of the Central Coast’s most romantic restaurants that are perfect for feeling the love on date night. Put them in the bookmark and you can keep referring to it when romance rouses in future.

1. Meribella, Terrigal

Meribella may be the newcomer to the Terrigal dining scene, but she has created a stir. A thoughtful and quite simply beautiful menu and matching wines set the scene for a romantic evening of note.

We have two tips for you, make sure you book ahead to get a table next to the windows that overlook Terrigal Beach and those iconic Norfolks. And, why not make a romantic weekend of it with a cheeky overnight stay at the Crowne… that way no one has to drive!

2. Kefi, Koolewong

3. La Gioia, Erina

Meaning “the joy” and wow, what a joy La Gioia is. Expect a sophisticated and exquisite culinary journey to unfold when you dine with La Gioia. Every little detail has been thought of from moody interiors to exceptional service and of course, an authentic Italian dining experience, where the heartfelt family traditions and flavours come with every dish. Tried, tested and we can say a big fat tick from us here at Coasties.

4. Amalfi, Pearl Beach

A slice of the Italian Coastline has landed at Pearl Beach! Say hello to Amalfi an absolute gem and absolute beachfront dining. Unlike most romantic spots, that tend to be best enjoyed in the evenings Amalfi certainly lends itself to a day date of delightful bites and a few arvo Aperol Spritz’s. After all when the view is so spectacular it would be rude not to enjoy it (and by the view we mean your date, of course!)

5. Carne & Cucina, Erina Heights

After the devastating news that their sister restaurant, Osteria il Coccia in Ettalong (a former holder of the top spot in this very list) was closing down, the opening of Carne & Cucina could not have come at a better time. Taking up residence in the old “BamVino” spot in Erina Heights, Carne & Cucina has opened to rave reviews. Combining their specialities of open-flame cooking with artisan Italian cuisine. This spot is not to be missed

6. Yellowtail, Terrigal

Another from Terrigal but we really cannot skip past the fine dining aficionados at one of the Central Coast’s finest restaurants – Yellowtail in Terrigal is where it’s at. The service is slick, the vibe is cooler-than-cool (bit of a slice of Sydney) and the menu is outrageous. In a good way. Go for the snapper sashimi to start. You must. We insist.

7. Suq Restaurant, Wamberal

Are we in Venice or Wamberal? It’s easy to get confused, especially if you’re digging into Suq Restaurant‘s outstanding fried goat’s cheese while sipping on the Palazzo Grimani Pinot Grigio. The white tablecloths, the friendly staff and the whole vibe has us feeling all European fling!

8. Johnny Tapas, Norah Head

This is for the laid-back daters amongst us. The ones who prefer perfectly concocted cocktails and a buzzy atmosphere to a white-cloth service run. Best of all, that doesn’t mean you have to trade off with some sub-standard fare. At Norah Head’s Johnny Tapas, you’ll find some of the most superior tapas on the Coast. Seriously, try the soft shell crab. Game changer!

9. The Wild Flower Bar & Dining, Killcare

Don’t just leave this Central Coast restaurant to the tourists, The Wild Flower Bar & Dining is an incredibly romantic spot. After all, Bells at Killcare, where it’s housed, is ultimately the #1 hotel in our region for loved-up getaways. Best to pre-book well in advance as it gets busy!

10. Motel Mezza, Wyong

There’s a slight Gatsby feel to the Motel Mezza thanks to it being housed within an art deco building. But it’s more than that. The cocktails are created with a certain pizzazz. It kind of makes date night a bit more special. The menu is all sharing small plates. Perfect for those in the first throes of passion who think feeding each other is kinda of cute. Or if you’re in a long term romance, you can bicker about who is having the last lamb kebeh.
