Yes, it’s a cliche, we know. But, it truly is the most wonderful time of the year! The magic of Christmas is well and truly about on the Central Coast, with a whole host of festive events and celebrations lined up to ensure that the Christmas festive season of 2024 is one to remember.

Bringing joy and, spreading Christmas cheer these fun and festive events bring an exciting mix of the traditional must-do’s through to (it wouldn’t be a Coasties Mag list without this after all) ways you can support small and support local on Coast this Christmas. From toy raffles to charitable Christmas tree sales to (you guessed it) carols under the stars, to the ever-popular Christmas Twilight Festival held annually by the team from Avoca Beachside Markets. Here are seven of the best Christmas and Festive events and celebrations of 2024 on the Central Coast. Let the festivities begin!

1. Avoca Twilight Festival

Huge advocates for the support local movement is the team at Avoca Beachside Markets. Each year their usual markets turn into the Avoca Twilight Festival. This beloved annual event offers a magical evening of local artisan stalls, gourmet food, and live music. Picture strolling through the outdoor market stalls under twinkling lights, meeting local makers, and supporting small as you do your Christmas shopping and most importantly celebrate the festive season at this community-focused event. Happening Saturday, 7 December from 4pm – 9pm this is more than just a market, it’s a true Coastie must-do. Coasties Mag could not be more proud to be supporting this event in 2024.

2. Mingara’s Great Toy Raffle

Your opportunity to win a share of $2000 worth of toys is here. Join Mingara’s Great Toy Raffle on Saturday, 23 November, because let’s face it after the year we’ve had (#costoflivingcrisis) a little help with the Christmas pressie buying won’t go astray! There is a sensation selection of toys to be won, so be sure to mark this one in the diaries.  Tickets go on sale at 1pm and the draw kicks off at 2pm.

3. Di Makers Christmas Market by Di Matteos, Forresters Beach

Looking for a more intimate local Christmas shopping experience? Why not grab your cash (that’s your subtle warning that this a cash-only affair) and head over to Forries to find the perfect gifts and stocking fillers at Di Makers Christmas Market?

Taking place on Sunday 24th 4pm-7pm. You’ll be met with amazing stalls, that all sell handmade, gorgeous wares.

4. Gosford Christmas Markets

The first weekend in December is going to be the weekend to knock over that Chrissy shopping list. Joining the Avoca Twilight Markets is the Gosford Christmas Markets which take place on Friday, 6 December. Held in the Showground in Gosford from 5pm – 9pm, this festive market is a treasure trove of handmade gifts, holiday decorations, and delicious food. Enjoy live entertainment, soak in the festive atmosphere, and find unique presents to place under your tree.

5. Christmas Photos on the Farm at Eastcoast Beverages in Kulnura 

For a unique and truly Coastie twist on Chrissy photos this year why not join our friends at East Coast Beverages? You can head out to the farm in Kulnura for their Christmas Photos on the Farm! Surrounded by citrus tree aisles and Christmas trees, this idyllic setting is perfect for capturing your fam.

6. Christmas Under the Stars at Mingara

Because there is nothing that says Christmas more than carols by candlelight! Experience the magic of Christmas Under the Stars 2024 at Mingara on Sunday, December 22. Sing along to all your Christmas faves, enjoy the live entertainment, festive treats, activities for the whole family and, of course, fireworks to wrap up the evening. With live performances,

7. Carols in the Park, Memorial Park, The Entrance

Because we love to have options! This Christmas Eve, you can bring your picnic blankets and settle in for a night filled with classic carols, festive roving performers, and a fireworks finale down at Memorial Park at The Entrance too.

Perfect for the whole family and free to enjoy, it’s a magical way to celebrate the season together! Presented by JC Entertainment and Events and supported by Central Coast Council. Taking place from 6 – 9pm on Tuesday, 24 December 2024.

8. Christmas Drop & Shop Dance Workshop, Erina Fair

Need to finish your Christmas shopping? Let The Coastal Physie Club keep your daughter entertained with a fun and engaging Christmas Dance Workshop at Erina Fair. She’ll enjoy dancing to upbeat music, playing festive games, and getting creative with crafts, including making her own ornament to take home. To top it all off, every participant will receive a special goodie bag.

The workshop runs on Monday, 23rd December, at The Erina Centre, Erina Fair, and is perfect for primary school-aged children. Full-day (9am–2pm) tickets are $50, and half-day (9am–12pm) tickets are $30.
