Beachfront Bliss at Blue Lagoon Beach Resort
Sitting on one of the prettiest stretches of coastline in Australia, Blue Lagoon Beach Resort has been popular with Central Coast families for over 60 years. It feels like a family secret… the kind of spot you come back to year after year, generation after generation.
Although word has gotten out that this place is something special, with Blue Lagoon Beach Resort recently taking out Outstanding Specialist Business and Business of the Year at the Central Coast Local Business Awards 2025. Huge congrats to the whole team!
Technically, the resort sits at the southern end of Shelly Beach (or the northern end of Bateau Bay if you want to get specific) – but ask any local, and they’ll know it as Blue Lagoon Beach. It’s been that way for as long as we can remember!
Nestled right on the edge of the sand, it’s the only holiday park on the Central Coast with absolute beachfront access. With a mix of self-contained cabins, powered tent sites and caravan spaces, there’s something for every style of stay – and every budget too.
Once you’ve checked in, it starts to feel pretty effortless, with no shortage of ways to fill your days. Younger kids will love the on-site playground and shallow splash zone in the heated outdoor pool and spa complex, while older kids can enjoy the half basketball court, mini putt-putt golf, outdoor chess and ping pong table. Plus there’s plenty of open space – so remember to bring the bikes and scooters! You get to spend your days in full holiday mode; there’s no need to pack the car again until you leave.

Spring Holidays at Blue Lagoon Beach Resort
This spring, there’s even more to look forward to at Blue Lagoon, with a lineup of family-friendly activities running during the NSW spring school holidays. We love the sound of the Li’l Green Thumbs Community Gardening with Kathy (Blue Lagoon staff member and keen gardener) where families can roll up their sleeves, dig in the dirt, and get back to basics.
Prefer sand over dirt? Central Coast Surf Academy will be running surf lessons right out the front of the resort, suitable for total beginners or anyone keen to brush up on their pop-up.
There’ll also be live tunes from local musicians, the Kombi Keg will be rolling in with their mobile bar, and plenty of craft sessions to keep the kids entertained.

It’s the kind of spring holiday that feels easy and familiar – the good kind of simple. Blue Lagoon’s private location, away from the main roads, means kids can roam safely with their new friends and parents can actually relax. We highly recommend a soak in the spa (bliss!).
Plus, there’s loads to explore right on your doorstep. There’s a patrolled swimming area and flags at Shelly Beach, or the rocky ledges on the southern side of the resort offer a great place for curious kids to clamber at lower tides. Feel like heading out? It’s a short stroll up the beach for a relaxed meal at Shelly Beach Surf Club, head into Bateau Bay for shopping or ten-pin bowling, or hike to Crackneck Point Lookout – you’ll pass plenty of flannel flowers and might even spot whales cruising by.
The magic of Blue Lagoon Beach Resort lies in its simplicity. It’s not over-the-top or flashy – just good old-fashioned holiday fun, a spectacular location, and a team who genuinely care about making your stay one to remember. It’s the kind of place that becomes a tradition.
