Convenience and gourmet rarely go hand-in-hand, do they? That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that Delidoor, a premium frozen meal delivery company, has just arrived on the Central Coast.

Delidoor is the brainchild of French trio Jacques Lepron, Mathieu Thomas and Executive Chef Sebastien Houillon. Each meal has been created to ensure it is so much more than your standard pre-made heat-at-home meal.

The trio wanted homemade meals created to the highest standard, with in-seasons ingredients the star of the show and most importantly, no nasties.

“As busy working parents ourselves, it is difficult to find the time to cook each night for ourselves and our families,” explains Mathieu. “The only available alternatives are expensive takeaway, cheap, unhealthy, and highly processed food, from the supermarket, or meal kits requiring one hour of prepping and cooking. We knew a better way was possible.”

The result? A quick scroll through Delidoor’s website and there’s an abundance of truly delicious meals.

From the light, with zesty quinoa salad, pulled pork salad bowl and even six varieties of quiche. And the hearty, with authentic bouillabaisse, beef bourguignon and pork ragu, to name just a few of many.

There’s also a kids menu, with homemade chicken tenderloin, hoki fingers and a gooey mac and cheese.

It’s no secret that frozen meals have become popular in recent times. Life in lockdown quite simply saw parents become truly fed-up from cooking three meals a day for the family. And now, it has extended to the exhaustion of general life in 2021.

But the Delidoor difference is that while many of the leading frozen food companies are national players, Delidoor is a local business run by two friends who have a passion for refined eats at a convenience.

And Jacques says the response since launching has been ‘amazing’, adding: “People love the food and come back for the quality, the home-made taste, the fact it is clean and because the convenience, our frozen meals really helps them for when they have no time, or maybe no willingness, to cook.”

Gourmet Frozen Meal Delivered Straight to Door

The trio say the secret sauce to Delidoor’s early success is that they apply French food philosophy to their products. “We keep it simple, only work with great ingredients, and master the sauces and seasoning,” Mathieu tells Coasties.

This isn’t solely a French dining experience, with more than a 100 recipes on the Delidoor website taking inspiration from every corner of the world. There’s also a huge variety when catering to food intolerances, with gluten free, diary free, vegan and vegetarian dishes all available.

“Australia is a multicultural country, so our meals reflect it,” adds Mathieu. “They reflect the lifestyle of our customers and more importantly today, help them travel the world as COVID has grounded everyone.”

Delidoor have also just launched an extensive Christmas range. Glazed hams, stuffed turkey, a kilo of prawns and vegetable tian filled with honey and goat’s cheese are just some of many items that can take the juggle out of cooking on the big day.

“2021 has been stressful enough with all the restrictions and multiple lockdowns, so we want people to sit back and relax this year, enjoy quality time together with their loved ones, and let us do the hard work in the kitchen,” says Mathieu.

So, how does it work exactly? It’s pretty simple. Head over to the Delidoor website, explore the extensive menu and pick and choose the meals you like. You can then choose a delivery day of either Tuesday or Friday. Then voila, you’ve got a freezer filled with premium meals that every member of the family can enjoy.
