New food and restaurant openings on the Central Coast this Summer

A flurry of fantastic new food offerings have popped up all over the Central Coast in the last few months. We welcome a few old hats that’ve taken up new digs or had complete rebrands/refreshes as well as some brand spankers.

And, hats off to all. Opening a new restaurant during the height of the busiest time of year is no small feat, so like we always say, make sure to get out there and try something new.  Show these new spots your support and all your Coasties lovin’.

Banana Blossom, Terrigal

To say that the community is excited for a salad bar to arrive in Terrigal would be an understatement.  But don’t just take our word for it.  Pop past the newly opened, and already extremely popular Banana Blossom and try out these huge bowls of greatness.

Firstly you’ll notice that every table is full and there’s a gathering of locals waiting on their takeaway salad box.  That’s because these salads are actually the bomb!

Secondly, your tastebuds are in for a sensation of note and we reckon you actually will make friends with salad after trying Banana Blossom.

Meet the team at Banana Blossom Terrigal

From the horse’s mouth and by their own admission “Salads have copped a bad wrap on taste for too long.”

So Banana Blossom took it upon themselves to banish that stereotype and create Asian-inspired salads packed with flavour using local, fresh ingredients that are simply put delicious.

And if you still need more convincing… as Coasties co-owner Tash put it “I’ll be adding a Banana Blossom salad to my weekly meal plan!”

Whats on Central Coast this weekend

Norah Head Beach Haus, Norah Head

Back in October Ash and her hubby purchased The Norah Head General Store and started a facelift like no other. Launching their new menu complete with burgers, bowls and bagels as well as a complete rebrand to what’s now Norah Head Beach Haus.

Located in a prime spot in Norah it’s only a short stroll either from or to the Lighthouse through the nature trail walk that is a minute from the cafe, making Norah Head Beach Haus ideal for a spot of breaky, brunch or lunch after the walk.

New food spots to open on the Central Coast in October

Another new month and another list of incredible new venues opening across the Central Coast. As if the social calendars aren’t already filling up quick enough, here is a list of even more venues to add to your list of must-do’s as we enter the warmer months.

And puh-lease, let there be SUN!

Have It Franks Way, North Gosford

Did somebody say loaded croissant? I’m listening.

When this is a cafe’s signature item, they have my full attention. And deservedly so. These things look incredible. With options for the sweet or savoury lover, worth the visit for this alone.

But I’ve not yet mentioned their floristry also located within the same space. Convenient for those visiting Gosford Private Hospital, but also anyone in and around the area.

Delicious coffee and cold brew batch, a selection of toasted, sweet treats and lunch items, it’s no wonder they’ve quickly become a so popular.

Green View Cafe, Kincumber

You can swing by here for a takeaway cup of Byron Bay Coffee Company coffee but, if you aren’t in a hurry, take the time to sit in their Lourdes Restaurant which overlooks the valley.

avoca beach cafe

A tranquil place to enjoy their breakfast, morning tea or lunch menu. Be sure to check out the local arts and crafts in their Green Valley Gallery.

OMG Donuts

Yep, donuts. Donuts in all their glory. A variety of flavours are available including Dusty Queen, Choc Mint Bliss, Spicy Ranga and Toast My Berry’s, we don’t know where to start.

From humble beginnings in local farmers markets around Brisbane, OMG Donuts now have around 64 locations Australia wide, we feel very lucky to be getting them right here on the Central Coast.

They are egg, nut, gluten, wheat, sulphite, yeast and dairy free, vegan friendly, and use no GMO’s, artificial colours or flavours so suit a range of different allergies.

This might just be the treat for everyone!

You will find them serving at a range of pop up events and markets across the south Central Coast region.

Artie’s Place, Copacabana

Copa’s cafe scene has had a real shake up of late and a change of ownership last month sees some fresh faces serving you up your beachside coffees and old favourites, alongside some new items and daily specials.

Artie’s Place is located downstairs at the Copacabana Surf Lifesaving Club.

We believe there’s some big plans for the menu here, so watch this space.

The new openings don’t end here, read below to make sure you haven’t missed the previous months must-trys!
