How this Central Coast mum is helping busy women transform their lives

Reading Time: 4 minutes

And the four signs you might need her help

If you’d met Sascha Jones a decade ago, you would have found a highly successful businesswoman busily jet setting across the globe, carefully maintaining her balance atop the high wire of a stressful and fast-paced career in the luxury high-end fashion, furniture and homewares industry.

While she was kicking goals on the surface, Sascha knew there was a missing link, so she bravely sold her business and moved to the Central Coast hinterland to start a family and escape the rat race. But it was a turning point about four years ago, after the PTSD Sascha had developed surviving the 9/11 attack in New York was triggered by local bushfires, that propelled her to commit to helping others in a new way.

The mother of two is now a qualified NLP and NTT Practitioner, IIN Integrative Health Coach, Certified Yoga Teacher and Reiki Healer. However, it only takes a moment after meeting her to realise her swag of accolades hardly scratch the surface when it comes to the depth of knowledge her experience and awareness provides the people she helps.

“I love it when there are the ‘aha’ lightbulb moments,” Sascha told Coasties Mag.

“Sometimes it’s not one big shift but a series of moments over time, it’s like that penny drops and something clicks in and it’s quite awesome. From that ‘aha’ moment you can move into another space and approach life with more lightness, balance and happiness.”

Coming in and out of lockdowns and after two years of the pandemic, Sascha has noticed an increase in anxiety and burnout with her clients. She says the four common indicators of a rapid road to burnout are impacts on sleep, brain function, mood, and cravings.

“Poor sleep could look like not getting enough, sleeping a lot but still waking exhausted, or waking at 3am with your brain ticking so much you can’t go back to sleep,” Sascha explains.

“Having a foggy brain so that you’re not feeling you’re able to see things clearly or get tasks done is another indicator of burnout, and so is the impact on mood: being irritable, snappy, exhausted, lacking in motivation and getting very overwhelmed with basic tasks even if you’re a usually motivated and happy person.

“And then there are cravings for food that are not necessarily good for us, so reaching for sugary refined foods that might pick us up in a second but make our blood sugar levels crash, or reaching for an extra glass of wine just because you want to escape.”

While many would not baulk at hiring a sports coach, school tutor or music teacher, the concept of an Anxiety Breakthrough Coach is understandably, and perhaps excitedly, something new to wrap your mind around.

“We are our biggest investment,” Sascha reasons.

“You think about how much you spend on clothes or material things but seeing the value of realising the highest, happiest version of our ourselves is so powerful, it can have a ripple effect on the rest of your life.”

Sascha’s approach is integrative and holistic, based on a combination of modern science and ancestral wisdom. “A coach supports and listens and guides and brings clarity to clients to help them get themselves from Point A to Point B. A coach holds space, they are a cheerleader, guiding with goal setting to find calm and happiness,” she said.

“Empowering people brings confidence and clarity – we’re always healing on some level but having self-awareness to start with really helps.”

Sascha primarily works with busy working mums on stress, anxiety, burnout and gut health. You’ll find her on Fridays at the Embrace Wellness Holistic Hub at Kincumber, and other days she works privately and remotely with people from as far afield as Thailand and the USA.

Sascha is also planning to launch intimate wellness luxury retreats for busy women on her Mangrove Mountain property Ironbark Ranch in 2023, where they can be guided by coaches to build on self-love, health, mindset and empowerment.
