When we say ‘Long Jetty’, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? The hip Central Coast town with the iconic pop-art style mural and boho cafe strip? Or maybe that spot where your wardrobe somehow gets a little cooler every time you visit.
All of that’s true – but it’s only part of the story. Here, you’ll also find a thriving beauty & wellness scene, with waterfront walks and a strong focus on feeling good in your body (not just looking good on the ’gram). In fact, there’s no other area on the Central Coast that has such a diverse offering and it’s perhaps why Long Jetty has had such a boom in popularity over the last few years.
From a thriving cafe scene, a WWII-era cinema turned live music bar and an outrageous amount of shopping for a relatively small strip, here’s your ultimate guide to discovering everything that Long Jetty has to offer.
Where to Eat & Drink in Long Jetty
Long Jetty Cafes
From creative coffees to instaworthy brunches, these Long Jetty cafes have our heart.

The Morning Coffee Society
If Long Jetty had an official morning meeting spot, this would be it. The Morning Coffee Society – or MOCOSO to the regulars – embraces those of us who need a caffeine fix to get started, offering perfectly poured coffee every day of the week. Then there’s the food – bold and hearty dishes with a homemade touch, like the chilli scram, salmon bagel or waffles (sweet, savoury, or mini for the kids). If there’s a special on the board, order it, and don’t walk out without a treat from the cabinet. Grab a seat inside where the buzz is, or pull up a chair outside and befriend the passing doggos. You’re part of the society if you have your own MOCOSO mug.

Green Tangerine
If you’ve seen their bright colourful dishes on your socials, you’ll know Green Tangerine is hard to walk past. Presentation & flavour collide in the best possible way, with plates that taste every bit as delicious as they look. A safe bet when you’re meeting friends for brunch in Long Jetty. Best enjoyed when you’ve got time to sit and chat – it’s lively, especially on weekends when tables stretch past the Thompson Street mural, but that’s half the fun. Be warned, if you try their pain au chocolate, you’ll be forced to move to the area as you’ll want it every day for the rest of your life.

Neighbours
With its leafy courtyard and zen garden, Neighbours (formerly Komuniti) offers a little oasis in the heart of Long Jetty. This wholefood cafe is a fave spot to refuel post-yoga or unwind with a cuppa. You might even catch Coasties having a cazh business meeting here! The food is light, nourishing and thoughtfully done, and it’s a nice change of gear if you’re not chasing a big brunch. Sit out the back if you can – it’s one of the calmest spots in Long Jetty. More than just a cafe, it’s also home to yoga, pilates, meditation and workshops, nurturing your mind, body & spirit in one place.

Cafe 2261
At first glance, Cafe 2261 might look like a straightforward local coffee shop. Serving up baked goods, breaky staples, Shhmoakesys Pies, and of course, stellar coffee. But this small cafe has a big heart. Owner Dave and the team are deeply connected to the Long Jetty community, backing local charities, supporting kids’ sporting teams and regularly rolling up their sleeves to host soup kitchens with free meals for those doing it tough. They take their role in the community seriously, and we love to see it. Grab a takeaway and head down to the lake or pull up a chair – this one’s about more than just caffeine.

Mr Sha Shas
Mr Sha Shas (formally The Glass Onion Society) is just pretty damn cool. A fresh take and complete makeover to this institution have only added to, in fact, we’d go so far as to say, elevated the Long Jetty cafe strip. With an incredible menu for both breakfast and lunch, plenty of outdoor tables and spanning windows the breadth of the cafe makes Sha Shas the perfect spot to pull up a pew and watch the world go by as you sip your latte.

Casual Eats in Long Jetty

Burgerville
If you’re craving a proper burger – juicy, satisfying, unapologetically messy – Burgerville delivers every single time. The menu doesn’t muck around either. Get your mouth watering with stacked burgers that live up to their names – like the ‘Phat’ burger loaded with a beef patty, beef rashers, cheese, egg, onions, pickles, tomato, lettuce and sauce on a brioche bun. Drooling yet? They also have a full range of iconic American cheesesteaks and crispy buttermilk-soaked chicken tenders, plus sides that are absolutely non-negotiable. The mozzarella sticks and loaded fries are must-haves, or we rate their acai if you’re chasing something cold & creamy. Burgerville also has a strong focus on ethically sourced ingredients and the largest halal menu on the Central Coast. Inside, it’s bright and fresh, with a cheeky burger-themed mural and staff who are always having fun. Open from midday right through to midnight, so your late-night cravings are well & truly covered.

Restaurants & Bars in Long Jetty

Jasper’s
When someone recommends Jasper’s, trust them. Behind an unassuming shopfront is an intimate Long Jetty restaurant that locals love. The menu is diverse and genuinely interesting, described as ‘Modern Australian tapas’ – which sees kangaroo tail dumplings and lamb skewers alongside rainbow trout grilled in pandan leaf. It’s a mix that works surprisingly well! It works just as well for a relaxed dinner as it does for a low-key celebration, with a warm atmosphere that feels a bit like a small European bistro. A solid all-rounder when you want something a bit fancy in Long Jetty. Worth noting: they’re BYO only, and they’ve got a great little arrangement with their mates at Upstairs Wine if you want to grab a bottle on the way.
334 The Entrance Rd
The Savoy Bar & Music
If you’re heading out for live music in Long Jetty, this is usually where you’ll end up. A crowd fave since it first opened as a cinema in ’56, we’re mighty glad The Savoy was reimagined and reopened in 2016 as a bar, restaurant and live music venue. This is the winner if you’re keen on regular bands, DJs, cold beers, tasty morsels and a fun crowd. It attracts a mix of locals, musos and anyone chasing a guaranteed good night out. An easy place to lose track of time. If there’s a band on, get in early.

Il Toscano Pasta Bar
Cosy, casual and very popular, Il Toscano is an authentic pasta bar that knows exactly what it’s doing – an Italian restaurant Long Jetty locals quietly swear by. With fresh pasta and traditional sauces made the way they should be – handmade by a real Italian with real ingredients – tables fill up quickly on weeknights with people who know what’s good. The space is modelled on a Tuscan trattoria, where food is made for sharing and conversations flow… and it feels so real you wouldn’t be surprised if Nonna popped out from the kitchen to pinch your cheeks.

Compass Pilates
If you’ve ever spent time with Tash from Coasties Mag, you’ve probably heard her talk about how sore she is after a Compass Pilates class. As a foundation member, she’s quick to add – this isn’t Pilates for the sake of it. This is reformer with purpose.
Compass Pilates is known for high-energy, intelligently programmed classes that focus on building real strength, control, and confidence. Every session is coached – not rushed – with instructors who know exactly when to push, when to support, and how to help you feel capable in your body, no matter where you’re starting from. The studio feels welcoming and inclusive, with a strong sense of community and good energy the moment you walk in. While the post-class muscle burn is very real, the benefits go far beyond that. With convenient class times, a central Long Jetty location, and trainers who genuinely care, Compass Pilates quickly becomes more than a workout – it becomes part of your routine.

The space feels refined without being stiff, charming without trying too hard – there’s a certain je ne sais quoi about it while still feeling totally at home in Long Jetty. Fresh flowers are hand-picked weekly on trips to Sydney, with a lovely mix of seasonal blooms, while the dried posies have become a bit of a local favourite. Things To Do in Long Jetty
Long Jetty jetties
You can’t really talk about Long Jetty without talking about the jetties. Parry’s Jetty, Watkin’s Jetty and of course The Long Jetty (351m long) – they’re the reason the suburb has its name, and are easily one of the most photographed spots on the Central Coast. It’s a beautiful spot to welcome the day, but it’s the sunsets that really steal the show. Golden light and a vivid palette of colours stretches across to the west. Just make sure to pop the phone down for a bit and watch the sky do its thing, it’s pretty damn magical.

Tuggerah Lake Foreshore
Flat paths, lake views the whole way and plenty of benches & playgrounds to stop and rest. The Tuggerah Lake foreshore has a large shared pathway perfect for bike rides, prams and dogs, plus your pick of spots to enjoy takeaway coffees and picnics. Some days you’ll do the whole thing, other days you’ll turn back early – or if you’re ready to burn more energy, continue north around The Entrance and enjoy the rest of the Coast to Lake Walk.

Saltwater Creek Reserve
Good luck driving past this one with kids in tow – they’ll demand you pull in, and it’s a good thing too. Saltwater Creek Reserve has a fully-fenced playground (including a liberty swing for wheelchairs), a giant scramble dome, BBQ facilities and plenty of open space, plus a dirt BMX track that’s a hit with confident little riders. Or head across the road to the newly-renovated Rocket Park (technically the Lions Park).
Long Jetty Boat Shed
Built in the 1900s, the boat shed adds to that always-on-holiday feeling. You can hire a kayak or paddleboard if you feel like getting out on the water, or just sit nearby and watch others drift past. You might get lucky with a food van out the front – or if you’re looking for venue hire in Long Jetty, this is a gorgeous option.
Long Jetty Accommodation
When it comes to accommodation in Long Jetty, there’s not a huge amount of choice with visitors generally staying in neighbouring The Entrance, Toowoon Bay or Blue Bay.
For luxury, head over to neighbouring Toowoon Bay to Kim’s Beachside Retreat. This is a five-star adults-only retreat, made up of individual timber cabins, that sits right on the beach. You can contact them directly for prices.

For romance, it has to be the incredible The Nest at Blue Bay. It’s all free-standing bathtub, white-on-white interiors and an stunning outdoor shower.
And for those travelling as a family, one of the most popular options is the Toowoon Bay Holiday Park. Here you can camp or grab a cabin, and there’s a an outdoor swimming pool on-site.
Did You Know?
Long Jetty is often referred to as Newtown of the Central Coast. Progressive without being preachy. Trendy without being try-hard. And to get that iconic Long Jetty mural shot, you’ll find it down the side of Green Tangerine.
Getting Around
There’s no nearby train station but the bus service does travel from The Entrance, Toowoon Bay and Tuggerah. But as always with the Central Coast, it’s easier to travel by car. When it comes to parking, it’s often easiest to park at Long Jetty Foreshore and walk up to The Entrance Road. The main strip is flat and walkable, even while juggling kids or a coffee (or both).
Long Jetty Property Prices
