Top Central Coast Restaurants

Saddles Mount White
Fine dining
It comes as no surprise that Saddles Mount White claims the title of the best restaurant on the Central Coast. Once you’ve called in for a meal at Saddles it’s easy to see why. Dubbed as ‘one of the most beautiful restaurants in the world’ by Conde Nast Traveler it’s an elegant waterside venue that’s tucked away from the usual (busy) seaside spots, offering a dining experience that feels worlds apart. Set on a picturesque property overlooking a tranquil dam, Saddles greets you with its charming barn-style architecture and beautifully landscaped surrounds.
From the moment you step inside, you feel a sense of calm and serenity. You’re welcomed by the inviting scent of rich leather, the warmth of a crackling fireplace, and a menu that celebrates refined comfort food — think house-baked goods, tender grilled octopus, hearty beef pies, and generous charcuterie boards, all served across leisurely breakfast and lunch sittings.

But taking out the Coast’s number one restaurant is not all from this quintessential venue, they’ve recently refurbished Saddles Barn – a unique and exquisite venue to host gatherings, functions and/or weddings. Plus, there are plenty more exciting developments (like Saddles Lodge – boutique accommodation and day spa) on the horizon, so stay tuned and make sure you’re following @coastiesmag for all the updates as they drop.
And, of course, make sure that a dining trip to Saddles is on the cards very soon. Take it from us, you will not regret it!

Lago Cucina
Relaxed vibes

Perched just above the Budgewoi Hotel, is our number two pick for the best restaurants here on the Central Coast. It’s none other than Lago Cucina. Lago has carved out a name for itself with its contemporary take on classic Italian dining. Set against the laid-back charm of Budgewoi, the space oozes coastal ease that meets stylish design — think warm timber accents, earthy tones, and sweeping views over Budgewoi Creek that provide the perfect backdrop for a long lunch or sunset dinner.
Lago Cucina brings a fresh twist to the traditional trattoria, with a menu that’s both familiar and refreshingly inventive. We die for their house-made pasta, woodfired pizzas, and fresh seafood dishes, actually… we lie, we love everything they serve up! But, we especially love topping off a delectable meal with an indulgent tiramisu that’s worth the trip alone.

Lago is food worth heading up to the far north of the Central Coast for! (Hint hint, nudge nudge, Peninsula dwellers.) With its welcoming and relaxed yet stylish atmosphere, standout service, and exceptional food, it’s easy to see why this Budgewoi gem has become a favourite on the Central Coast restaurants scene.
169 Budgewoi Rd, Budgewoi
Meribella
Relaxed fine dining

Our top three best Central Coast restaurants list wouldn’t be complete without including Meribella, one of four Terrigal restaurants awarded a Chef Hat in 2026. Located within the Crowne Plaza Terrigal, the restaurant boasts sweeping ocean views that just instantly set the scene for a dining experience that you will always remember.
Headed up by Chef Joshua Mason, whose commitment is to crafting dishes that are as thoughtful as they are delicious, is evident with every single dish you order. The menu has been carefully curated and is a blend of land and sea, with an emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from local growers and producers wherever possible. Meribella is sophisticated and glamorous yet so approachable with its unique touch of coastal charm. They have managed to offer a dining experience that’s both elegant and relaxed. Win win.

We can’t go past dishes like the crudo of scallop, remoulade and burnt orange or the aged duck with black garlic and cauliflower. And did we mention the impressive wine list? Which highlights standout drops from nearby Hunter Valley and beyond.
Meribella delivers on all fronts and is certainly one of the finest the Central Coast has to offer. Book here.
