Central Coast’s Newest Foodie Finds
The Duck’s Brew Coffee & Juice Bar, Booker Bay
Warm, welcoming and a little bit whimsical, The Duck’s Brew is more than a coffee stop. It’s a community-first place where everyone feels seen and truly belongs (including pups).
Pull up a chair in their courtyard, slow down and feel right at home. Their specialty coffee, handcrafted concoctions, juices and snacks are made with care, and served with a side of genuine connection. And when ordering a coffee, you’re invited to choose from their collection of mugs – sustainable and intentional, we love that!
Look beyond the brews and you’ll find crystals, tarot cards, incense and local trinkets, adding a little enchantment to that feel-good, slow-down charm. Settle in and soak up the good energy.
199 Booker Bay Rd, Booker Bay

Hardy’s, Terrigal
Bringing their signature polished but relaxed vibe, Hardy’s was instantly at home in Terrigal. With a day menu designed for casual lunches and an evening menu with flavour-packed share plates (topped off with Dubai chocolate-covered strawberries for dessert), it works just as well for a date night as it does for a catch-up with mates. Already a popular choice amongst the many foodie options in this seaside suburb.
2/16 Church Street, Terrigal
The Point, East Gosford
The much-loved Avoca institution is officially making mornings brighter in East Gosford. The Point fits right into daily life, from grabbing a coffee or catching up with friends to taking a quiet moment for yourself. Inside is light and bright, with a menu that’s all about fresh, seasonal flavours – golden pancakes, nourishing bowls, wraps and classic cafe faves. Their all-day brekkie gives you a choice at any hour, with options for every preference, including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free dishes. Quality coffee is a must, or ask to see their latest cocktail list. One thing is for sure, this East Gosford cafe is here to stay.

La Bodeguita, Wyong
Brought to you by the legends behind Jerry Sent Me, Wyong is now home to La Bodeguita, the Cuban-inspired small bar we didn’t realise we needed in our lives (but it turns out we REALLY did). Bold flavours and a lively atmosphere, with a menu that’s made for sharing and Latin music to put you in the mood. Popular for date nights, dinners, after-work drinks or those nights when you want something a little different but guaranteed to be good.

SwirlzNThingz, Long Jetty
If you’ve got a sweet tooth (or kids who always ask for dessert), SwirlzNThingz is about to become your new favourite, serving up Central Coast’s first drill ice creams. You know the ones that you’ve seen all over your socials – except these guys do it with creamy frozen custard, not ice cream, infused with mix-ins like biscoff crumbs, kit kats, strawberries and pistachio, and loaded with toppings. You can choose straight from the menu or go rogue and build your own – either way, it’s hard to go wrong. They’ve also got dutch pancakes, dessert cups and proper thickshakes. And they’re open until 9pm, making it the perfect stop for an after-dinner treat or a late-night sweet fix along the strip.
356b The Entrance Rd, Long Jetty
The Saffron Table, Umina Beach
We’re suckers for the deep, comforting flavours of authentic Indian food, and The Saffron Table has absolutely nailed it. Warm spices and rich curries, they’re serving all of our faves in a refined dining space, making it a great option for both dine-in and takeaway nights. A truly welcome addition to the Umina foodie scene.
Lone Pine Plaza, shop A2/357 Ocean Beach Rd, Umina Beach
Spoonys Gelato Shop, Avoca Beach
Avoca Beach got sweeter with the opening of Spoonys, the first shopfront for the makers of our fave gelato & sorbet, Spoon Bay Gelato. That’s right – their ice cream truck is still kicking around, but now you know exactly where to go when you fancy a fresh scoop, 6 days a week. Perfectly placed for a post-swim treat, and conveniently on the way to / from the dog beach, they’re serving up classic and creative flavours that hit the spot on a hot Coastie day.
173 Avoca Dr, Avoca Beach

Terrigal Pavilion, Terrigal
One of our top picks for ocean-side cocktails this summer, Terrigal Pavilion has been buzzing since opening its doors in November 2025. The views from here are breathtaking – we honestly don’t have a better word for it. Sitting on the upstairs deck overlooking Terrigal Haven, all the way out to Crackneck Point, has us reverting back to the days of #blessed. And that’s just one of the 3 spaces within The Pav. On the ground floor is their signature restaurant, The Tropic, home to fancy dinners, or grab takeaway from The General Store. Do your best to nab a table outside on a warm afternoon – and feel free to bring the kids, they’re super family-friendly here.
2 Scenic Hwy, Terrigal
Oak Coffee & Collectables, Charmhaven
We love ourselves a cafe with a side quest! And this is exactly what you’ll find at Oak Coffee & Collectables in Charmhaven, where they pair a solid cup of coffee and a simple menu with a passion for collectables. While you’re sipping your drink, you can browse their range of collectable trading cards and merch – perfect for everyone from keen traders to those just getting started, or anyone wanting something to brighten up their desk. Dog-friendly and with a gorgeously sunny courtyard, they’re turning a simple coffee run into something way more fun.
23/6 Fairmile Cl, Charmhaven
Caffeine Cove, Wyoming
Locals have been crying out for a cafe within Wyoming shops, and Caffeine Cove has answered their call. Bright and modern with an extensive menu – all day brekkie, yes please – they are already busy with a capital B.

Craft beer lovers, this one’s for you. Goons Brewery has opened its doors in Berkeley Vale, bringing small-batch brews and plenty of personality to the local scene. Good brews, good people and a laidback setting where you can pull up a stool, try a paddle and hang out. Keep an eye out for food trucks and live music. Whether you’re a seasoned beer drinker or just keen for something cold and local, Goons is worth a visit.
Unit 5/14 Bon-Mace Cl, Berkeley Vale

Billie’s by the Bay, Toowoon Bay
Sister venue to Jasper’s in Long Jetty, Billie’s by the Bay is all about relaxed coastal dining. Their menu focuses on classic dishes done really, really well – plus cold foam additions to the drinks menu that we’re keen to work our way through. They’re currently open from morning to night – no mean feat and much appreciated by Central Coast foodies.
143 Bay Rd, Toowoon Bay

Adding even more flavour to Budgewoi, Pa Ruay brings Thai favourites to the local mix. Expect bold, punchy dishes, classic curries and stir-fries with the freshest ingredients. If Thai is your comfort food of choice, this new opening is one to try.

New Food Openings on the Central Coast (September 2025)
The Banger Rebellion, Ettalong

The Banger Rebellion has rolled into its next chapter – and Coasties, you’re in for a treat. After winning hearts (and stomachs) slinging gourmet banger rolls from their beloved food trailer Stella, the team now has a bigger, bolder home base in Ettalong. Their cult-fave rolls aren’t going anywhere – the classics are back, plus some you haven’t met yet – and they’ve added a cracking breakfast lineup. Standouts include the Morning Glory, an indulgent breakfast banger roll, and The Anti Hero, their unapologetically upgraded take on a bacon and egg roll with homemade sauces and a soft brioche bun that’ll ruin all other rolls for you.

Craving something sweet? You’ll find homemade cakes, cookies and wickedly decadent brownies alongside old-school milkshakes and Little Marionette coffee. It’s food that makes you start planning your next visit after your first bite. And soon, you’ll be able to settle in with a bevvy too – bangers and booze, now that’s a match made in Coastie heaven.
But The Banger Rebellion has always been about more than just the food – it’s about community, creativity, and shaking up the way things are done. Their new space was chosen to bring people together, and they’re open to hosting anything from art shows to book clubs, meetups to live music… we can’t wait to see how the Central Coast embraces this space!
Big flavour, big energy, and a place that feels like it’s here to shake things up – the rebellion is well and truly on.
46 The Esplanade, Ettalong Beach
Willow & Bean, Bateau Bay
New to the Bateau Bay scene, Willow & Bean already feels right at home. Owned by local couple Jade and Tom, the cafe was designed with comfort in mind and plenty of thoughtful touches – like a kids’ play space so parents can enjoy their coffee while it’s still hot, a simple family-friendly menu, and a big indoor setting that works rain, hail or shine.
Open seven days, the space also showcases products from local makers, so there’s often something new to discover while you sip. Early risers will love their weekday breakfast deal too: bacon and eggs with a regular coffee for $12 from 6:30 to 8:30am.
Pop in for brunch with your friends, enjoy a solo coffee in peace, or browse fresh flowers and baby clothes – it all works here. With good coffee, friendly service and plenty of care poured into every detail, Willow & Bean may be fresh on the block, but it has all the makings of a place you’ll want to come back to time and again.
Unit 1/676 Coleridge Rd, Bateau Bay

Okyn Café, Noraville
Taking over the old Village Café spot in Noraville, Okyn (pronounced ‘oh-kin‘)is the newest venture from the crew behind Café 2261, created in partnership with local specialty coffee enthusiast Dan Farmer, and they’ve brought the same focus on quality with them. (They’ve also taken over Ground to Grow in Fountaindale – talk about busy!) For Okyn, specialty coffee is their thing, and they’re serving up a choice of blends and single origins from Veneziano Coffee Roasters so you can tailor your cup just how you like it. Add in a menu built to celebrate the simple things done well, and you’ve got a café that feels at ease from the moment you walk through the doors – just pick a cosy indoor table or a leafy garden nook and settle in.
Crowd favourites are already emerging, like the toasted banana bread with house-made espresso butter (a cheeky double hit of caffeine with your coffee order). And with a new spring/summer menu on the way, expect lighter, brighter flavours: ricotta with strawberries and lemon curd, roast pumpkin with hot honey and feta, even crispy fried chicken with house gochujang. Safe to say, Noraville’s coffee and brunch game just levelled up.
446 Main Rd, Noraville

Little Miss, Terrigal
Making the move from West Gosford to Terrigal, Little Miss has traded industrial streets for a sea breeze, breathing new life into one of Terrigal’s most historic spots – The Old Post Office. This isn’t just Little Miss Mezza with a new postcode; she’s added a coastal twist to her Middle Eastern roots. We’re here for the char-grilled seafood and flavour-packed small plates, plus a hand-picked wine list and creative drinks that taste as good as they look. And did someone say live DJs on a Sunday? Nothing beats a good Sunday sesh by the beach. This Terrigal restaurant offers tively long-lunch energy, served with that signature Little Miss warmth.
4 Ash St, Terrigal

Tiger Mama, Ettalong
Ettalong’s dining scene just got fiercer with the arrival of Tiger Mama. This Pan-Asian restaurant features a menu built for sharing, with everything from bao buns and dumplings to rich curries and sizzling plates made to linger over with friends. Throw in a cocktail list that packs just as much punch as the food, and a space that’s equal parts moody and glamorous, and you’ve got a new Ettalong hotspot that’s already making waves.

Amarilla, Terrigal
We’ll admit it – when we found out Yellowtail was closing, we were a little bit devastated. But once we heard the same talented team was opening Amarilla just down the road? Well, that sadness turned into serious excitement. Perched at Terrigal’s iconic Haven, this new Spanish-inspired spot brings tapas, cocktails and unbeatable ocean views together in one stunning package.
Amarilla is all about relaxed, social dining – small bites, share plates, and bold flavours that pair perfectly with a zesty spritz or glass of Spanish wine. It promises the same culinary creativity Yellowtail was known for, just reimagined in a breezier, more laidback setting. One visit and you’ll see why we’re so glad the Yellowtail crew didn’t go far.

Il Toscano, Gosford
Gosford’s got a new Italian kid on the block, and it comes with serious cred. Il Toscano has already made a name for itself around the Coast, and this third dine-in spot brings all the classics – fresh pasta, proper sauces and that cosy, old-school Italian feel that makes you want to stay a while. If you’re chasing the real deal, this is about as close to Tuscany as you can get.
1/9 William St, Gosford
Budgewoi Vietnamese Cafe, Budgewoi
Word travels fast on the Coast, and so far it’s the crispy pork banh mi everyone’s talking about. Budgewoi Vietnamese Café has only just opened its doors, but the locals are already lining up for their fresh rolls, steaming pho and bowls of noodles that taste like they should. No fuss, just good Vietnamese food that hits the spot.
10a Ocean St, Budgewoi
Cafe Lusso, Wadalba
Hidden inside the new Lusso Estate, this café is already drawing in the locals for a decent coffee and a bite to eat. Cafe Lusso are keeping things simple – good brews, fresh food, easy service – for a relaxed and casual dining experience. The real bonus? They’re pouring coffee right through until 4pm, which we all know is rare on the Coast. If you’ve ever found yourself hunting for a caffeine fix in the afternoon, you’ll want to keep this one on your radar.
195 Johns Rd, Wadalba
New Food Openings on the Central Coast (June 2025)
The Greens, The Entrance

After a $21 million rebuild, The Greens has returned bigger, brighter and better than ever. This is your local, reimagined – with a flash new fitout, a refreshed focus on food, community and good times, and everything you need for an easy afternoon catch-up or big group get-together.
Head straight to Theo’s, the restaurant named after the club’s original greenkeeper – they’re bringing the goods with a Mediterranean‑inspired menu that’s perfect for sharing with mates (or keeping all to yourself, this is a judgement-free zone). Our tip: nab a table on the patio if the sun’s out! And of course, there’s a bar with more than 20 beers on tap – from classics to crafty brews – plus a full TAB for punters.

Then there’s the greens, where the real fun kicks off – because who doesn’t love a game of barefoot bowls? Or you can join their comp if you’re up for something more serious. All in live music and weekly raffles, and you’ve got yourself a proper local hangout. So grab your crew, order a round, and see what all the fuss is about.
10 Warrigal St, The Entrance
Imagine If Community Cafe, The Entrance
We can’t resist a cafe with a cause. Tucked inside the grounds of The Entrance Community Centre, Imagine If is more than just a café – it’s a social enterprise with heart. With every order, you’re helping build confidence, connection, and a stronger community. Powered by the Iris Foundation, this not-for-profit spot supports mental health across all ages – so your morning cuppa is doing more good than you know.
Also? It’s just a genuinely lovely place to hang. There’s a shaded, enclosed playground for the kids, easy ramp access, and plenty of parking, making it a win for families and carers. The food’s delish (who doesn’t love an all-day brekkie), the service is super-friendly, and the mission behind it? Even better. A little kindness (and caffeine) really can go a long way.
15 Battley Ave, The Entrance
Bold Brew, Umina

With a focus on specialty beans and a warm, community-first feel, this new addition to the Umina café scene is already turning heads (and fuelling mornings). It’s early days, but the locals are loving Bold Brew – and for good reason.

78 Terrigal Esplanade, Terrigal
Spanian’s Kebabs, Wyong

Love him or hate him, there’s no denying the buzz that follows Anthony “Spanian” Lee’s popular food truck franchise – and Spanian’s Kebabs is already making waves at the Chapman Building in Wyong, with lines winding around the block on opening night.
So, do the kebabs live up to the hype? Absolutely. Think smoky grilled meats, fluffy pita, crisp salad, and house-made sauces bursting with flavour. It’s a simple combo, but when it’s done this well, it seriously hits the spot.
Go hungry – and maybe pack a little patience. It’s worth it.
(Side note, because the people want to know: yes, this is a permanent food truck, not a popup)
Chapman Building, 14-16 Alison Rd, Wyong

Thanks to a $3M investment from Mounties Group, it now boasts a slick new synthetic green, all-weather cover, upgraded lighting for night bowls, and a fresh bar and players’ lounge to match. We love a modern revamp!
50 Natuna Ave, Budgewoi

New Food Venues Opening on the Central Coast – March ’23
The Central Coast has so many amazing food options, with many new options being added every month. We have put together a list of a few we’ve come across recently.
Lago Cucina at Budgewoi Hotel

Lago Cucina is set to offer a unique dining experience to the Central Coast community and beyond. Guests will journey up the stairs into a bright and inviting space where the textured white walls, natural stone, and arched enclaves evoke the feeling of a breezy summer day on the Mediterranean coastline. The contemporary Italian menu features an array of classic and modern dishes that showcase Mediterranean-inspired flavours.

Guests can enjoy traditional favourites such as antipasti served with focaccina, handmade burrata, and classic wood-fired pizzas, as well as more innovative options. To complement the menu, the restaurant’s skilled mixologists have crafted a range of cocktails that perfectly capture the essence of Italy.
Lago Cucina’s opening hours will be Wednesday to Friday from 6 to 11pm and Saturday to Sunday from 12 to 11pm and 12 to 10pm, respectively. Guests can also contact the events team to enquire about hosting private events and exclusive hire of the restaurant.

For reservations or more information, visit Lago Cucina’s website or call 02 4390 9336.
